Description Holy crap, I can't believe I actually sat down and drew this. I've been wanted to to draw some fanart for the movie Red Eye for nearly a year now, but never quite able to summon up the courage to do so.

This was a super quick drawing; I actually think I spent more time on getting the characters to look like their respected actors than I did with anything else in the entire piece. Since this is going into my private collection, I really didn't want to put a whole heck of a lot of time into it anyway, which included inking the figures and giving them a decent coloring job. I also liked the sketch so much I didn't want to loose a lot of line like I do when I ink a picture, so I decided to just color with pencil lines. I'm kind of regretting it now, seeing how the characters looked more how they were supposed to when they were mere sketches, but like I said, this was only used to fulfill my fangirl-ism and to be purely therepudic. I'm not even expecting a lot of feedback on it, so I might scrap it later.

Red Eye is one of those movies where you have two types of reactions from the movie goers. Most people just saw the movie as another "pretty girl gets kidnapped by creep" Wes Craven sort of thriller, and are more or less indifferent to the movie. However, there was a small audience where there was something about the movie that just hit a different cord, myself included, and thus one of my favorite pairing fandoms was born. Which is odd if you think about it, considering that after the first twenty minutes one can easily argue that there was no longer any attraction between the two characters, while others like myself are firm believers that the attraction between Lisa Reisert and Jackson Rippner never stopped throughout the course of the movie (the bathroom scene was freaking hot, although nothing of that sort happened), and we would love to see further development between the characters in a hopeful sequal, but I think we have a better chance of Wes Craven making a Scream 4 than a Red Eye 2 anytime soon.

But Cillian Murphy and Rachael McAdams just look so damn good on screen together...

One can always dream.

Yeahhhh I'm currently obsessed with this movie once again (I was obsessed when it came out too) and have just stumbled on your art here. Awesome. Now to check out some fan fics! And hey... there is a Scream 4 now.... Hope is still alive

P.S. Jackson was taken out alive on a stretcher in a deleted scene so I go by that!!!

Hmm I can see what you mean by the attraction in the movie. She was like the Clarice to his Hannibal Lector, except he's not a cannibal.

omg, you've got the colors spot on!

did you see the way lisa looked at jackson when he was sprawled there on the living room floor? she really looked like she's very sorry for him and the fact that all their chemistry, all their potential to make a true and loving couple was just *poof* gone.

it was so sad. i think that's what made me rethink about them. they were like "meh" at first during their good and happy scenes together but then, the very frustratingly subtle bathroom scene came, and then lisa's "you don't have to do this, any of this." line came and then jackson's "when we get outta this, i may have to steal you." line came and so on...

damn. i will offer my kidney for the sake of a red eye sequel.

Yahay, I know that fic, but... I have to admit, I cannot read anything with a sad ending b/c it depresses me pretty much, and so I took a look at the ending and saw Jackson would die, and it was: bummer, no!!! I really wanted to read it because reading a few paragraphs there I found it perfectly written, great choice of words and nicely described emotions and thoughts, but i know I'd freak out in the end I'm pathetic, I know. Maybe one day when i will be less of an emotional wreck, I read it.

OMG, I can totally relate, actually.

The only thing is I didn't peak at the end chapter beforehand so I didn't get to brace myself for such a heartbreaking ending.

But damn it was so nice like you said. You ought to read soon.

Love this movie I read somewhere that Wes wanted to make a 2nd one, but Rachael or Cillian (maybe both I dont know) didn't want to.

I had heard was that it was a decision made mostly by their agents. At the time Red Eye was made, both were beginning to become fairly well-known actors, and their agents thought that a sequel would drag their carriers down or something like that. It sucks, I know a lot of people who would have loved to have seen a second one since it was left so open. Thank you for the comment and the fav!

Lol weirdly when I saw the movie's cover and trailers I knew it was good but weird thing is I didn't see the trailer long enough to know the actual plot

I thought the movie was there were terrorists on the plane and from that they were just seatmates that end up together.

But I was wrong and I loved the movie even more, and yes I'm another believer lol clearly in the bathroom scene, when he saw her scar you could see pity on his face.If you notice well enough he stops chocking her too when he sees that. I was planning on writing a fic of them but wasn't sure if I would be able to make it good enough

Awesome. Love the lines and it's simplicity. Count me in as one of the few that love them. There's some great fanfiction about them out there too.

I very much recommend it. There's no guarentee you'll feel the same about it that I do, but it's worth watching nonetheless.
