Oh what foolishness is this,That I should fall into the abyss;
Far from last and not the first,
that dark, dark empty pit.
A pool of darkness, no light
floods the floor of life.
I've been there once,
maybe twice before.
No flame, no bright flare
all shadows are but despair.
No one really knows,
Just how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I see all the magicians tricks,
that black caper of conflicts.
Empty white faces, empty white smiles
Clap and spread across a thousand miles.
Oh what foolishness is this,

I contemplate the invisible hand
That feeds the life into demand.
I march beside the many, a minion
With, as far as they say, no opinion.
I can't stand it, that blindness;
All I would ask is for kindness.
I pull back the blinds, the caper
Tricked by his own devices.
I wanna break out,
I wanna way out.
I wanna break the divide
for all those worldwide.
I'll light the path,
I'll face the wrath.
The Man won't stop me now,
of that I can avow.
Alone and yet far from
that which we were,
We are what we have become,
no longer marching to the beat of the same drum.
