Flag of the Kulesian-Mazlander Commonwealth, the powerhouse of Eastern Terra Equus and a nation that has been through more than its share of crises...and always come out stronger.

"With the proclamation of the Edict of Antlergrad, the Kulesian-Mazlander Commonwealth had finally found a balance of power between its monarch and the many noble families of its aristocracy. With the power struggles of the past finally, permanently ended the nation was poised to enter a new era--thus, a new flag was needed to mark the transformation. This flag has remained the Commonwealth's national banner to this day.

Designed by a courtier of the then-recently passed Grand Princess Zira Rishnakov, the new flag was intended as a statement of purpose to the world, so nations both friend and foe would know what drove the Commonwealth forward.

The Commonwealth's royal bloodlines and noble traditions are symbolized by the bright orange color, a signifier of wealth and prosperity in many Eastern Terra Equus cultures. The flag being separated into equal quarters also represents that the Grand Prince/Princess is 'First Among Equals' to his fellow nobles.

The wreath, and its bright yellow color, symbolize the unity of Kulesia and Mazland that gave rise to the nation, placed centrally within the flag as the "center" from which the modern Commonwealth emerged, much like a field growing from a single stalk of wheat that the wreath itself is made from.

The two stars represent the Grand Prince/Princess, and the Sjem: the nation's twin 'guiding stars', working in concert to guide the common people to prosperity. Their red color serves as a reminder of the strife the Commonwealth has endured over its history, both as a conqueror and in defeat.

Finally, the white space represents purity of purpose; a rejection of radical notions of tyranny and so-called 'mob rule' alike, a final rejection of the calamitous Chained Crown and Bloodied Crown eras that plagued the Commonwealth in its history."
