Radagast took off on his rabbit sled, followed closely by a whole pack of wargs.

Then, we ran.

Out of the woods as fast as our legs could carry us.

My heart was beating so fast, I thought it was going beat right out of my chest.

We ran to a cluster of large rocks.

The wargs ran past us, but one, ridden by an Orc, jumped on the highest rock.

We all stayed very quiet.

Thorin looked over at Kili, and nodded.

Kili took a deep breath, then got his bow ready and shot the unsuspecting Orc.

The warg fell off the rock, and Dwalin and Bifur finished off the deed.

"Run!" Gandalf cried as the other orcs ran after us after hearing the dying cries of their comrade.

We kept running until we were completely surrounded.

As I looked around at the orcs closing in on the company, I pulled out my sword, my legs shaking.

Thorin grabbed my arm and pulled me behind him protectively.

As I hid behind him, Fili yelled "We're surrounded!"

"Kili!" Thorin cried to his nephew, "shoot them!"

Kili obeyed, nailing one Orc right in the forehead.

I heard Dwalin behind me.
"Where's Gandalf?! He's abandoned us!"

My heart dropped. How could he leave us like thi-

"Over here! You fools!" Gandalf appeared behind a rock, then I saw him walk downwards, disappearing.

"Go!" Thorin grabbed me by my arm once again, and we ran to where Gandalf was.

As I got closer I could see the hole.

Thorin threw me down and I slid to meet Gandalf.

One by one, the other dwarves slid down next to me.

"Kili! Run!" I heard the king cry from above.

I heard him tell as he sliced into another warg's neck.

Finally, Kili and Thorin slid down the tunnel.

Once down, we heard the sound of a horn.

I didn't know where it came from. All I could hear was hoof beats and orcs screaming.

An Orc flew down the tunnel and landed on its back, clearly dead.

Thorin leaned over it and pulled out the arrow that took its life.

"Elves!" He threw it down in disgust.

I looked up at the opening of the tunnel once more, but only saw sky.

"I can't see where the pathway leads!" Dwalin said from behind us, "do we follow it or no?"

"Follow it of course!" Bofur replied.

We all trailed after Dwalin further down the tunnel.

Thorin had not let go of my wrist ever since he fell into the passage, and he dragged me along beside him.

His touch sent tingles through my entire body. I followed willingly.

Soon, after traveling through the claustrophobic tunnels, there was an opening.

We all filed out and I saw the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen.

"...but in the common tongue, it's known by another name."

"Rivendell." I heard Bilbo beside me.

After exiting the passageway, Thorin looked down at my wrist he had a firm, but still soft, grip on. He quickly let go. I looked down, blushing.

He turned and spoke to Gandalf.

"This was your plan all along. To seek refuge with our enemy."

"You have no enemies here, Thorin Oakenshield. The only ill will found in the valley is that which you bring yourself."

"Do you think the elves will give our quest their blessing?" Thorin grumbled. "They will try to stop us."

The old wizard smirked. "Of course they will."

I turned back around to look at Rivendell once more.

I couldn't believe it.

We were going to see the elves.
