- Before:
There was a time that Kan didn’t exist, not even as a thought. It’s the times even before her parents met.

Some time before the “Shifting stones” happened two wolves, Ermis and Hera, found compassion in one another. In times of stress and depression when their leader was gone, and with no one to keep them together as one, these two canines found friendship and companionship among the great pack of Taika. With all the past events Ermis and Hera weren’t mentally or physically stable, although together they tried to figure things out. They’ve lost friends and many packmates in that flood, big lakes or rivers give them flashbacks of the tragic event.
And as nature has it, the two wolves found themselves pairing around the time of spring, when love is in the air. But even love can’t fix what’s broken. Ermis had some separation anxiety, thoughts and dreams of Hera drowning or falling off cliffs came to his poor head when she would leave to hunt for the pack. And while Hera was doing everything for both of them Ermis was too anxious and depressed to even stand up.

But who would have guessed that Hera was pregnant, there were no symptoms. Her hunger increased but that was also because Ermis never ate a whole meal so in order not to waste it, she just eat it. So the growth of her belly wasn’t really ringing any bells of pregnancy.

Until one day in a hunt, while running and about to grab the prey with her teeth something unusual happened. Hera felt paws kicking her belly but it was impossible to be outside of it. Immediately she stopped and with a shocking look in her eyes, she slowly turned toward her belly just to realize she was pregnant. The pregnant now wolf had to inform her fellow hunt members and return before something bad could happen.
The news arrived at the pack’s camp along with Hera. Ermis was just waiting, the thought that both her partner and their pups could find the same fortune as their pack mates back in the flood made him go into a small shock. The pregnant partner wanted to share the news with Ermis but it happened vise versa.
The shock made his back legs paralyzed. Now all the care and stress of the upcoming litter was all on Hera plus the care of her paralyzed partner.

- 0-6 Months old:

Time passed and Ermis’ legs slowly started working more and more every day, and on the other side, Hera’s belly got bigger and bigger.

One cold night in July (July 19th, 2022) the now-mother gave birth to three pups. They named them Omiros, Penelop, and strangely a pup that didn’t look like either, Kanena. It was too early to figure out Kanena’s pelt color yet but they loved the idea of naming their pup “none”, along with the beautiful names Omiros and Penelop.
Kanena, we could say was the “ugly duckling” of the three pups. Omiros was that handsome little pup with the beautiful colors of his mother and Penelop was the cute and beautiful one that had a good combination of both parents. Kanena was just there, their stare looked deep into your soul and it was scary for a pup, but no one could look away from those gorgeous sky-blue eyes.
Their sweet months of being pups slowly passed with Ermis’ leg working fully and finally helping out poor Hera that couldn’t really hunt for them anymore. The return can’t be so fast for Ermis, he had to go under basic training again to gain back the muscles he lost over time.
- 6-12 Months Old:

The three growing wolves were now in that stage of their life where their permanent fur will start coming in. The two, Omiros and Penelop, with no doubt, looked improved in a way but still, the handsome and cute pups they were. Their personalities on the other hand as they started “building” themselves weren’t so pleasant. Omi was selfish and judging, Pen was somewhat more of a team player but only so she could gossip with her brother about it. Kan on the other hand didn’t really show progression, still the same soul-eating child with sky-blue eyes.

Ermis was back on his feet working hard for his mate and pups with Hera on his side, she fully recovered from the pregnancy and was on her feet in no time. But that didn’t undo nor fix the past, maybe they forgot about it at least Hera did. Ermis from time to time would freeze and have flashbacks of the flood, which happened mostly when he was anxious or stressed about something. He didn’t really talk about it to Hera though, only his “favorite” pup Kanena, he told all about the flood and wolves that passed, everything… He could talk to them because their stare was just the same no matter what he would tell them, thinking that was the best way to let things go.
One day a couple of months before they all turned a year old, Ermis took Kan for a walk little did the pup know… Their father was planning all this since he started walking, he would take one pup the one that no one would have doubts that did, and go visit his friends. They traveled, and he told Hera they were just going to hunt Kan’s favorite animal that was off-season here and so they went. To the cliff where he saw everyone he loved and cared about fly away as he told Kan.

“Okay, Dad is going to fly now my little spirit”

He said to her as he got closer to the ‘portal’

“Come help Dad fly Kan, and remember to go exactly the way we came!”

Ermis added as he asked his own pup to help him ‘fly’. Kan didn’t know better they just wanted to help their father achieve his dream, which they couldn’t care less but it looked important that only Kan was allowed to go and also lie to Mother. So Kan slowly approached their father and tried to push him. The poor pup was clueless. Ermis was about to ‘fly’ when his mind changed for a split second and scratched Kan on the shoulder leaving three big scars. Their heart started pounding as they got closer to the cliff where you can ‘fly’ away, but returned back to the usual beat once they saw Ermis peacefully ‘flying’ away…
Kan waited for a while they really hoped for Ermis to return from visiting his friends. A couple of days passed and no sight of their father. Kan didn’t feel scared they just patiently waited but the one that came wasn’t Ermis, it was Hera. She was worried, she knew it would take a while to go where they were supposed to but not that long.
Hera went on a walk and both their scent was going in that direction and it had nothing to do with the one they supposedly had to take. She immediately knew where that led to. That’s when Hera appeared in the scene. Kan looked over at her mother and said,

“He said he’s coming back…”

And Hera started crying. She was clueless and in her grief, she had only one to blame, Kan. After a while, they arrived back to the rest, Omi and Pen. Hera was so furious and sad that her partner was now gone, she didn’t even want to look at Kan anymore. So she left them in the nursing den, Kan was now an orphan, Hera, and the pups never spoke to her but they remained in the pack under one condition, ignore them like they are kanenas (= no one).

Kan’s life is just now building up, they don’t care about their family just focusing on their goals and the pack.
