Hey, I've been wanting to ask someone who uses Copic markers something. Maybe you can help me?
I bought two Copic skin tones E50 and E51 just a month ago. I love the heck out of them! And then…just the other day, E50 ran out of color. I was so pissed! It only lasted barely two months and 10 drawings! I had no idea that it would run out that fast!! I’m looking into buying a refill now…but I just can’t believe it. Do they have them half full to begin with? Does one refill (I know you can refill multiple times but I mean just one) make it longer than when you first buy it? I’m extremely frustrated, as my funds are in a perpetual state of lowness, and I was hoping these would last me longer. (I guess I drew too many shirtless men!! LOL!) Anyways, do you experience this too? How long do your skin tones last you? Is the refill worth it? I just wondered what you’ve experienced, as I honesty expected more longevity from a brand like this…

Skin tones are probably the most often used colors if you draw humans frequently. So when it comes to them, I use cheaper brands like Promarker, because there is not enough difference in performance between them to justify the price gap for me. I made the mistake of buying skin tone copics, and they also ran out of ink after about 10 drawings. When I went to get them refilled I learned that the refill was about two times more expensive than the marker itself, and I could buy 4 brand new Promarkers with that money instead. Therefore I bought 4 new promarkers. So I don't really know if refills last longer. There are some shades of colors that other brands cannot compete with Copics, but you can find pretty decent skin colors from other, cheaper brands. So if refills are as expensive in your country as they are in mine, you could consider trying other brands.

I went ahead and bought refills because I'd already footed money into buying the markers and so I kinda figured once you're in, you're in. But that's just skin tones. I'll lookin into Promarkers! When I want to get some other colors I'll consider them. Thanks again!

Yes! Did you get your Promarkers off the net or in a store though. I want a good ethnic brown skin tone, and I'm looking into something other than Copic.
