"Gabriel..." Alex whispered, staring wide eyed a mist the fighting around him.Brotherhood against X-Men, the mutants fought against each other, barely taking notice of the single blond teen making his way around them.
Alex's raised his voice. "Gabriel!"
At long last, the figure caught the name and turned around with a scowl. A scowl that quickly faded into shock. And then relief.
"Alex!" Gabriel replied loudly, shouting across the Whitehouse field and maneuvering to meet Alex.
How many years had it been now? Jesus look at him! How his baby brother had grown!
The smile twisted into horror as a red flash of smoke appeared in front of Alex. A knife slid easily through the yellow and black of his X-Men uniform. Alex's knees buckled and he fell to the ground as Azazel's blade was wrenched free and the teleporter disappeared once more.
"Alex!" Gabriel roared. Silencing everyone with a strong blast of pure energy.
Lunging forward, he caught his brother.
Alex gazed up amazed at the elder's face. "G-Gabe? Gabriel?"
Gabriel, or Vulcan as the Brotherhood knew him, cradled him and touched his cheek, feeling helpless. "Hey Alex"
