Description A character design for a Dungeons and Dragons game I'm playing. She's a Longtooth Shifter with fox-like features who is a paladin of Sune. I wanted to diverge from the traditional "crusader of the church" image of the paladin class and go for more of a "wandering ascetic divine swordsman" route.

Also, she is wearing plate armor, according to her character sheet. Her left shoulder pauldron is providing +8 AC. No lie.

That is really hot.
But how do you get away with calling one Paudron plate armor?

Because an AC bonus is just a number =X

If I was DM, you wouldn't have gotten away with it, but whatevs.
I'm also a huge stickler for practicality when it comes to armor and weapons, so I'm bound to critisize at some point.

None of us at our table were really fans of letting the books tell us what we looked like. We all had different ideas of what we thought was cool (some people liked dark gritty fantasy, some people liked colorful wacky fantasy, some people liked fairy tale fantasy), so practically everything was accepted, at least as long as the concept was still communicated somewhat.

It's nt to say that I'd stick to the books description, but in our table it usually has to be within acceptable bounds.
For example, I tried hard for a scythe, but I couldn't find any beleivable thing to label it as.
What I did get was a khopesh, which the DM let me call a bastard sword.

But... there's a scythe in the book =O It's a 2d4 two-handed high crit weapon.

Heh. The comment about the armor reminds me of a D&D based story I once read. The heroine had complained about the cleavage revealing chainmail she wound up with, and another character explained that that section had "a powerful spell of misdirection." At this point I thought to myself "Also known as 'boobs.'"

One small pauldron gives her higher mobility, equating to easier defense from dodging. AC isn't exclusively smash resistance...^.^

Wait... you're implying D&D females can wear full body armor? I thought they were REQUIRED to have a single pauldron provide their entire AC bonus!

Love the pic. As an atheist who plays paladins myself, I kind of hate the "crusader of the church" stereotype. Grats on breaking the mold a little bit
