My adventures in needlework continues! This was a gift I made for one of my dearest friends (IRL) Jonathan, who I've known for almost 7 years now! My other friend Mike invited me on a roadtrip to Gainesville (I have never been there before), and I knew Jonathan lived in the area and that he loves the beach, so I decided then and there to make something for him while also experimenting beyond the simpler hand-sewn pieces I've made in the last couple months.This took a couple days working on-and-off to finish, and seeing the look on his face when I gave it was priceless!
This ocean scene is about 5.5 inches in diameter.

this is one of my favorites! I absolutely love the sea you made, the waves with the individual threads (or well, you probably weaved it in and out) but I love the light and dark blues you used! The birds are really really well done and the way you did the clouds too are excellent! the sun looks a bit like a daisy to me tbh I think maybe just the yellow would have worked better but it still looks lovely

I could've let the sun stand on it's own, but I didn't think the yellow thread would show too well against the light blue, so I went with showing the brightness with some white added. I get what you mean about it looking like a daisy tho
The clouds and the ripples were fun effects to improvise. ^^
