Description As I think I mentioned earlier, Hades is still pretty unknown to the mortals. And the others in the family are so uninterested in dead people and the Underworld that nobody obviously has told Athena about what Hades really does (and of course he hasn't said anything himself).

Deep down, he does love her, I mean...he could've just slept with her, but he went through all that as a cukoo just to make her his wife.

Hera: Zeus, what are you doing>

Yes, deep down he actually loves her, no matter how many times he says that he can't stand her.

Hera: I wonder if Indra the Asia king of the gods is looking for a wife, he's LITERALLY hung like a ram.
V-Lamia: You'd leave your kids and wander to asia without any money?
Hera: Your right, leaving without the money would be hard. (harsh hissing from Lamia) KIDDING!! Yeesh, I can't joke?

I wonder if the other pantheon's talk about Hera and Zeus? I mean, so far Isis and Osiris have a more stable relationship....course, he's dead.

So, a couple where one of the spouses is undead somehow has a more stable marriage than Zeus and Hera's. Ouch

That's a good question. Do the different pantheons gossip about each other? I guess it depends on how much they know about gods outside their own pantheon. I use to imagine that they mostly keep to themselves. But if they know about Zeus and Hera I bet they talk about them. "Hey, Isis! Did you hear the latest about Zeus and Hera?" "Oh, gods... What have they done now?" XD

I just thought I'd throw it in, it's a interesting suggestion.

Freya: brother, did you hear? There's another pair of Twin Gods out there!
Frey: Really?
Freya: yep, goddess of the Moon, Artemis.
Frey: Oh, yeah, and the brother is like me. A god of sunshine?
Freya: Yep, but don't expect any kids, I hear their our total opposites. The only time Artemis came near a dick, was when her father conceived her.

Nice update! Also, nice to see that Zeus does miss Hera (it was hard to tell even in canon). Maybe it's time he tried to talk to her after all.

A-gnosis In reply to bhut [2012-07-09 13:34:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I should think so.
You're right, it is a bit hard to tell even in the myths. But since he never kicked her out and once went looking for her when she refused to come home, I imagine that he must have had some kind of feelings for her after all.

Oh Zeus. You're so sad and lonely it's almost sympathetic. Almost.

Hades knows more then he lets on, eh?

A-gnosis In reply to 123lealea [2012-07-08 01:01:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Almost. (1. It was pretty much his own fault that Hera left Olympus, and 2. He hasn't exactly been true to her during the time she's been away.) But at least this shows that he has some kind of feelings for her.

I should think so.

Well Hades doesn't seem the type to talk about his job. After all, people might actually look him up! (oh wait)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

A-gnosis In reply to ks-claw [2012-07-07 18:46:02 +0000 UTC]

I think Hades doesn't talk about his job (or his interest in rocks) because he has learned that people generally aren't interested to hear about it. And he assumes that someone else already has told Athena what his domain is.

Yes, even if Athena already wasn't his favourite child, the sight of her happy face in the last panel would have been enough to melt his heart. ^^

Zues is getting lonely for Hera that is for sure. Maybe Hades has been in contact with Athena's dead friend and knows how upset she is. Love Zues being all flustered.

People tend to be kinda cute when they're flustered. Even not totally sympathetic characters like Zeus. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KellySchot In reply to A-gnosis [2012-07-07 22:31:17 +0000 UTC]

Yes, even him. I swear, before I started writing stories with the Greek gods, I really hated Zeus. But now that I've done some writing and thinking on my version of his character, I honestly don't know whether I love him or hate him. But I think that's Hera's reaction to him as well most times. So perhaps that will work to my advantage.
Though I admit, I did make him a very adorable little boy. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

A-gnosis In reply to KellySchot [2012-07-08 00:51:29 +0000 UTC]

I think that will definitely be an advantage. If you just hate a character, you probably won't be able to portray him or her in a more profound, interesting way. I'm trying to give a somewhat balanced depiction of my Zeus and show that he has both good and bad sides, but unfortunately I can't say that I like him so very much. I certainly don't like to draw him (mostly because he's difficult. Beards are difficult and muscular bodies are difficult).

Haha! That sounds just like how Hera thinks of him. "Do I love him or do I hate him?" So, do you have any Zeus and Hera stories planned?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KellySchot In reply to A-gnosis [2012-07-08 02:48:53 +0000 UTC]

I do have some stories planned for them. Though their biggest roles are in one fairly long story of mine which is basically the war of the gods against the titans. I think it'll be fun to write as I plan to really develop Zeus and Hera's relationship and their feelings for each other. Zeus will have a few moments where he's quite an ass, but he grows up throughout the story as the war takes years. And Hera has a few of her own angry moments (she's kinda where Ares gets his temper). Hades and Poseidon will also be major characters in that story. I think it'll be fun. I just have to finish my current project before I get to work on it. But once I'm finished with Lady of the Sea and King Hypatian, I should be able to devote my full attention to it. It'll probably be one of my longer stories.

Ah, you know it's...whatever it is, when one of them sniffs the others clothes.

...

Moving on, it's fun to see Thea get one up on her dad, for once. And now she will be more interested in what Hades does, hopefully?

A-gnosis In reply to Ciara12 [2012-07-07 14:01:49 +0000 UTC]

Either it's kinda cute or... I don't want to think too much about it.

Yes, if Hades hadn't said that he needed some sleep, Athena would probably have gone after him to find out why he behaved like he did.
