06: Mrs Brisby from The Secret of NIMH
Probably my favorite Don Bluth film. I remember being immediately drawn in by the art style when I saw pictures from the film as a kid. I had to wait a couple of years before I could watch it, though, since this is definitely not a film for the youngest children.
The field mouse Mrs Brisby is a widow with four children who needs to move her family out of the field before the farmer plows it up. However, her youngest son has pneumonia and could die if he is exposed to the cold. This leads her to seek the help from a mysterious colony of rats living under a rose bush. The story sounds quite cute, but I promise you, this is 1980s dark fantasy at its finest.
