Chapter Two
Three weeks later. . .
Magnus sat at the breakfast table, sipping from a chipped coffee mug before he heard wailing coming from his bathroom. He raised a perfectly arched eyebrow before he poked his head around the corner, glancing at his bathroom door. Who could be in there? It wouldn't have been Alec, he never got sick. . .
He walked down to the bathroom, and promptly knocked on the door, coffee mug in his other hand.
"Alec? Is that you?" He asked, feeling stupid once he realized only Alec would have been in there.
"Yeah, but it's nothing, Magnus. I'm just fine." Alec tried to relax his boyfriend, before he heard the door opening. He jumped in front of it, greeting Magnus with a pale, sick-looking smile. Green spread across his face, and his bangs hung limp in his eyes.
Magnus pulled him close, caressing his hair. "Honey, you've said that for the past few days. Really, are you okay?"
Alec gave a stern nod, as he then weakly walked over to flush the toilet. He sighed, and fell back against Magnus.
"I'm just tired, that's all. . ." He whimpered slightly as his boyfriend petted his back, and kissed his forehead.
Chairman Meow slipped past their legs, wandering over to his bed in Magnus's room. Magnus picked up the cat, receiving a startled mew from the Chairman. He handed the fluffy ball to Alec, who responded by cuddling it close to his chest, something he normally didn't do. Alec smiled as Chairman Meow kept meowing.
"Is he making you feel better, Alec?" Magnus asked, blinking a bit before he let the cat free itself, and walked his boyfriend to the breakfast table.
Alec munched absentmindedly on a piece of toast while he stared off at the window, eyebrows drawn together in concern.
Magnus watched as the Nephilim boy turned back to him, giving a light smile before he looked down at his plate. He reached across the table to grip onto Alec's hand, getting a simple grunt in response before he pulled back. He took a cold, blue glance at his boyfriend before turning back to his second piece of toast, mentally disregarding it as he raced back to the bathroom.
The whole day seemed to play out like this. Magnus would make Alec something to eat, and after having about a fourth of it, he'd race back to the bathroom. When the day was finally over, Alec was curled up in bed, already asleep.
Magnus cuddled close to him, drawing the boy's body against his.
You'll feel better, Alec. I'll help you, I promise.
He quietly closed his eyes, trying to focus in on what was bothering Alec. He couldn't see anything. This concerned him, but after a day of having to take care of his demon-hunter boyfriend, he did need a rest.
Magnus figured the problem wouldn't be too harmful to Alec immediately, and he could most likely reverse the side effects. He tried one last time to spot the problem, and saw nothing. It must have just been an upset stomach, like he said. Magnus cuddled close to his boyfriend again, receiving a happy sigh from the other.
"Night, Alexander. . ." He said before ultimately falling asleep.
