Yuna from FFX and FFX-2.I'll probably make a lot more FFX fanart in the future.. it's my favorite game!! :3 And though it was (sorely) lacking FFX-2 still had cool outfits. :# Omg, berserker dress spheres?? THE BOMB.

What I like about this deviation
I really like the pose for this piece, to me it looks like a photo has been taken at the right moment during a performance. It's great to see that you have drawn her in your own style as apposed to mimicking the original creator.
I'm guessing you've used sai for the lineart, but I could be wrong. Either way the lineart is very smooth and the detail entailed is great.
What improvement could be made?
Although you show lots of detail, if you used sai theres a feature that can thicken the lines and feel this could have been used in certain areas, underneath the frills of her skirt, maybe some hair strands can be made thicker for texture purposes. Her right eye (viewers right) could be made a bit bigger to emphasize that she's looking more in the direction she's facing to.
If you do intend to colour this at some point maybe change the background colour too as I think the blue in her dress would just match the background and not stand out.

Thanks very much for your critique, I agree with everything you said. I did use SAI for the lineart (Photoshop CS5 keeps making my lines a mite fuzzy and not clean like SAI). You mentioned there was a line-thickening feature - I haven't come across that yet, where can I find it in the menus?
By the way, your template for the critique is really good, especially the "What I like" and "What improvement can be made." As you know I write essays of critiques and any way I can shorten and organize them would be a godsend. I might steal that idea.

Thickening lineart.
New lineart layer, then the button you want is pressure. Then click on a dot and drag it forwards or backwards to change the thickness.

Yuna looks gorgeous! I really like how you did the detailing of the dress that she's wearing, including the folds on the bottom. The posing of the character looks wonderful!
