I think this is one of the best pictures I've ever made, and I'm so glad it's for an illustration for Alice in Wonderland. It was probably the first "novel" I ever read. I must have been eight or nine when I first read it. I loved the animated 1951 movie, but after reading the book I was like, who needs that movie and the book is so much funnier, but even in that movie my favorite scene was the tea party. In the movie my favorite character was the Cheshire Cat. In the book the Hatter rivaled the Cheshire Cat pretty quickly. Now I have to say in the end the Hatter won overall.

For this picture I used the book illustrations to help me, but I needed more help so I used some screenshots from the 1999 Hallmark Alice in Wonderland movie. I also used the Sazova, Turkey for inspiration for the castle in the background as it has a very whimsical look to it.
