You can't help how you see your character, I've been having the same problem and I'm torn I think I should change her but then I wouldn't be being true to how I see her.Β I love my character, and just because she has a similar hairstyle as someone else I'm getting Smack.

I hate it when people compare their characters to mine, especially when they try to accuse me of "copying," or "stealing" their characters.
It's so childish and immature. People seriously need to grow up.

It's always annoying when people say that.... I'm just like "Ok? What do you want me to do about it?" I get sometimes it's coincidences but sheesh shut up about it. Specially when they're all like "They should be brothers/sisters!" bitch no.

That's true! sometiimes people just got to think about a perfect oc, and get similarities about what should a good oc must be...but an original oc is that...YOUR original not others!

Yeah, but that's the annoying part, when others bothering/bullying people, because they love their OCs, who are in the same gender

You could say the same about Marvel Comic [I can hardly tell most of them apart ._. All the guys are the same just recolored D: Its like watching Naruto for crying out loud].
I'm not saying this cause in most art everywhere, you can find things, especially people, that look alot alike. I can tell some people irl apart, and they are obviously made differently, the same with animals in the world. The fact that 'western cartoon' sacrifices anatomy for uniqueness, and manga does the opposite is...well, stupid. You tell charries apart by their actions, and the little things, and the identifying qualities and similarity of what theyr wear today and tomorrow /rant is ranty
SOrry for rant. Its just...well, everyone nags about manga, when ALOT of manga ia like...drawn by 14 year olds? 15 year old? aand I'm not talking about DA manga- I'm talking about the actual graphic novels out there. I swear that 70% at least of the shojo genre is the same guy and girl physically together in the same style over and over, but then you see who drew them, and the fact their art hasn't changed since they were 12 *shakes head dissaprovingly* We need real artists D: Like the Spirited away dude/chick, that film was like...whoa

Rant away, I like ramblings.
I agree, a lot of the "he stole/she stole" character issues that show up on the net (and I specify the net, because that's where they become the ugliest arguments) are stupid. Of course there are true issues of plagiarism out there, but more often than not, it seems like people spot a character that shares a couple of traits with their OC and boom - they find that cause to claim a steal.
On a somewhat plus side, most of the time when I see these things happen, they're arguments being caused by really immature artists (maybe they're extremely young, but I hate to make that assumption; there are a lot of mature kids out there, after all). Basically, I don't think they're worth the time it takes to defend yourself.
And I agree - Spirited Away was indeed very kickass.

There are hundreds of thousands of different anime styles, and they do not all have similar facial structures. For example; my art has a completely different facial structure than that of InuYasha, FullMetal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Rorouni Kenshin, which are the animes I learned to draw from.

Alot of anime (and western cartoons) consists of paper cutter faces and bodies within it's fandom. Just remove the hair, and clothes and they look pretty much the same. Especially the girls, like in pokemon, sailor moon and mew mew powers.

I know that if you took the pokemon characters hair off they would look the same.
I know that if you took the hair off the Sailor moon characters they would look the same.
But the sailor moon characters would not look that same as the pokemon characters.
That is the point I was trying to make.

There are hundreds of anime styles, but many of them do, imo, have similar facial structures. Many have similar mouths, simplified noses, similar sized foreheads, similar chins, etc. While that's obviously not always the case, unless you're dealing with bad guys/less attractive characters/old people, many characters lack definitive facial anatomy. Tomoe and Megumi, or Miroku and Kouga, to pull some examples from your list. If you took away their hair/eyes/ears, it'd be hard to differentiate one face from the other.
From what I took from the deviation, the original stamp maker wasn't complaining about people saying she copied drawing styles, but designs. The problem seemed to lay with people who were like, "My OC looks just like yours! He has blonde hair with spikes and blue eyes, and wears a ninja gi, too! It, like, totally copied me!"
To say that is stupid, because in many anime styles - duh, of course you can find those kinds of simplified similarities. It'd be like me going to your gallery, and picking this , and going, "OMG you totally ripped off Sakura!" It'd be ridiculous. What grounds do I have to base that on? They both have pink hair and...heads?
You mentioned FullMetal, which is one of the anime/manga that I admire most because it does break the every-skull-is-alike rule. Most of the main people have specific noses, cheeks, jaws, and whatnot. If I were to make a %100 rip off of, say, King Bradley - people could call me on it.

Instead of conveying an "I did not copy your OC" message, your stamp makes you seem very obsessive over your own "OC", to the point that if anyone else had a similar OC, you'd go ballistic, even if the other person did it first.
