Description

I came across the Flixbus car park, open space with people walking through and green wall behind. I was messing around with the fence for a few minutes before this person talked to me, she pointed at some posters or a bar next to it that i ought to photograph, then said 'i've been homeless for 15 years and this is kind of my area'. Then she walked past, smoking, in front of a fence, or did that before she pointed to the bar (left of here), but it was only a day later did i think it was her way of saying 'heh, what you doing, eff off'. She grimaces as i pointed for this, the weather was cloudy but smoking and fence is an automatic shot. It's weird to me someone would come over after me being in a spot for a few minutes but..yeah. It's next to Maddison Square Garden and i went there a few times, it was busier than other spots. Same kind of thing in Oslo, you wander and reach a spot where you're told 'don't take photos here' as you're merely walking through and i do think...well i go everywhere, that's the point, so it's me pursuing this years long thing, for my own reasons, trying to get good stuff coming up against people on the fringes of society who if nothing else want to claim an area, and not even an area, just literally a path sometimes.

When i see groups of people huddling up and i'm just there with a camera it is weird, but the examples given there weren't like that. There is a stretch in Oslo of just homeless, and obviously i'm not going to go there. I just walked on the other side of the road.

Hamburg had kind of people about on a corner but i was just interested in the escalator, not them. I think they're so familiar with an area they wouldn't understand how for me i have no idea, i'm just looking for light and ways to frame. And it's like..it's getting dark, i'm here now, if i could warp around then yeah i'd do that.

I think of that Rick Moranis footage of him being attacked in New York. He had no time to react. I guess if it happens hopefully it's not too bad. If i end up with a broken nose and look even uglier that'll annoy me though.
