Today's Care Bears Kid is David the astronomer from DIC's Care Bears animated series. He appeared in the second half of the seventh episode titled "The Night the Stars Went Out".

Well, basically, David himself had never met the Care Bears in person, nor do they clearly interact with each other throughout much of this episode.

Anyway, so for David's involvement in that episode, he was observing some beautiful stars at the night sky, but he finds out that many stars were beginning to disappear. He informed his mother about the missing stars.

The next day, David was playing hide and seek with his friends, but he suddenly stopped counting just as the sky turned dark and murky. David and his friends witnessed this and decided to head back to his home.

After the Care Bears had rescued the stars from the maestro Strato Nefarious, who wanted to play his violin with some light, David was relieved when the stars return to their rightful places, before he went to his bed to sleep, with Bedtime Bear suddenly showing up in his bedroom as his mother leaves.

In the art above, I made him carry the cute little stars (they're pretty hot to handle in real life) and gave him a new wardrobe.
