For the very first time, we have two Care Bear Kids for today. They're Matthew (or for short, Matt, as I'll call him for now) and Lisa Miller from DIC's cartoon adaptation of Care Bears in 1985. They appear in the second half of the very first episode titled "The Birthday".

Matt was initially jealous of his sister, but soon grown on her, courtesy of the Care Bears and their Cousins (a group of Care Bear-like creatures based on different animals other than bears). Matt also has a friend named Eddie, who is interested in mocking the Millers' lives by messing things up. Matt and Eddie are the main focuses of the story, whereas Lisa only appeared at the climax of the episode.

For Matt's involvement in the episode, he was informed by his parents that he will have a baby sister, but he refused to have one, since he wanted a birthday party, which he thought nobody will remember.

A few minutes later, Matt was playing catch with his friend Eddie as the Care Bears (and the Care Bear Cousins) arrive at his house. Matt reminds them that he's having a baby sister, but all he wants is a birthday party. He still hopes that his parents will remember his birthday.

After his father leaves the house, Matt and Eddie went to the kitchen to bake a cake, but Matt accidentally throws the cake batter to Eddie, who went to wash himself, then the Care Bears and Cousins arrive in the house to help bake the cake. Although intrigued with their magical abilities, Matt states to the Care Bears and Cousins that he will not play with his sister and leaves the kitchen in disgruntlement.

Later, Matt was riding in a cool racing car driven by Eddie, who decides to destroy everything in the backyard, the living room and Matt's sister's new room. Matt soon charges towards Eddie and blames him for what he'd done earlier. Disdained by Matt and Eddie's actions, the Care Bears and Cousins came and got the boys to make up with each other.

Matt and Eddie watch the Care Bears and Cousins use the "Care Bear Stare" and "Cousin Call" techniques to fix everything affected by the boy's antics, then Matt's parents return home from the hospital with the newest member of the Miller family: an adorable baby girl named Lisa.

The family checked in Lisa's brand new room, which, I assume, was decorated by the Care Bears and Cousins. Lisa loves her new room and Matt finally celebrates his birthday for good.

I made new clothes for Matt and slightly aged him up, otherwise he and Lisa look almost show-accurate. Aww, they look cute together, aren't they?
