also Sam is ill because he is a lizard/grass and he would usually just heal himself with photosynthesis but since its all cold and cloudy he can't.

Looks like you weren't kidding about having Mar and Sara act as parental figures to Sam! I might try to work that in a little deeper as I'm working on my Event 3 with your team.
I'm sort of writing the story piece by piece as I draw the images, so there's room for improvisation (and bad practice, probably >_>)

yeah they adopted the egg with intentions of a new team member but when he hatched they became a family
