Hi! I think this piece is beautiful. I'm curious as to how its made. It says its an embroidery technique? Are the beads sewing onto a backing of some sort?

the beads in this piece are sewn onto felt. it's like regilar embroidery, only seed beads are added. I can give you links to some good tutorials, but they are in Russian. or I can recommend books in English.
