For Yukibun's contest with their O.C. Aisha!!

So this is actually the cropped version...cuz I wasn't sure about fitting the entire thing here (plus, sometimes it is just better to keep some things cropped out...//sweats nervously).
Sometimes I really wonder what was going on with my brain, like, why did I ever think it was a good idea to do lineart when I know my lines are really fat and pixel-y. I almost regret not painting the art instead...but so many days have already been poured into this and if I were to change at this point, I will probably just choose to jump in a hole instead. I also regret a lot of things that I did with this art (rip anatomy and generic angle), but it is also not a lie that it is my best work until date. //I am so conflicted with my feelings. I am at a weird dimension where I feel proud of this piece, yet also embarrassed because I just had to torture myself and looked at all the entries so far...and so many people I look up to entered as well and I just want to hide this forever. //sobbing.

On the bright side, I was able to test my own strength and see how far I can go currently, and now I know what to improve on too. I really do wish to be able to work with backgrounds more in the future (like, actual backgrounds and not draw what I am comfortable at drawing ie: typical looking 'tree' that every 6 year olds draw), as well as try different lighting and learn how to come up with better poses/compositions.

In the end, I am really glad that I entered this contest, because otherwise I would still be drawing simple and easy stuff because I like to escape the hardwork. Even if I am lazy every other times, I can at least do my bestest for contests since it does not involve the 'quality exchange' factor like commissions and art trades do, which can often pull me back from trying and pushing myself to the limit. So to anyone still reading this essay, if you ever hold massive contests, please don't be afraid to ask me to join. If I have time, and is not already working on a contest art, I will gladly take part and do my best again!
