Description Another b/w quickie.

(DISCLAIMER: the events mentioned below happened in our campaign, they were not in any way mentioned in any of the FS rulebooks)

They are two PCs from our Fading Suns Campaign, Ines Conchita Santa Ana Eduardo de Hazat and Alejandro Corrinho Dulcinea de Hazat.
A very long story a bit shorter:
She was a heartbreaker. A daughter to a powerful marquis from Suthec, raised for an eventual political marriage. Since she was 16, she visited almost all of the Known Worlds and broke almost all of the men's hearts within reach. Why? Quoting herself, 'cause they were so fine and dashing and she was not allowed to fall for any of them. And that was what they had to pay for.
Should any of them become too open, there was always JosMaria, her bodyguard and champion, who would teach the would-be lovers how to behave - with cold steel.
And there was him, Alejandro. A soldier, a military leader. When him and Ines first met, he longed for a Decados lady, who travelled far beyond the Known Worlds, giving him neither promise nor scorn beforehand.
And they met on Stigmata, where they arrived because of so different reason. For Ines it was yet another place where she hasn't been yet. For Alejandro, it was a place where he could ally with the most powerful Hazat who shared his views and who also was considered a traitor by the rest of the House.
And it was on Stigmata where she noticed that he pays little attention to her... of course, never did he forget the etiquette, never was he rude towards her, he even risked his life without hesitation when they were attacked by the Symbiots. He even released his dark Alter Ego to save Ines - and brought doom to the planet (yes, our MG was mean) yet... he was so cold! So unnoticing! So blind! How come he wasn't awed by her charm!
And then there was diplomatic life on Byzantium Secundus, where they both found themselves as envoys from a renegade faction of the Hazat. Where Ines learned the ways of life the hard way and Alejandro did help demanding nothing in return.
That was where she fell for him, yet he didn't notice, preoccupied with all the events and harm he caused with his actions.
It took a few months, and a few life-threatening situations before he started realising... and understanding... that he cares for Ines. And only after Ines was kidnapped did Alejandro understand how much he'd lost with her. And then he confessed that he did love her.
Some month later they found themselves caught in a long-lasting family feud od Delphi. Shortly, family of another PC, Manuel Trinidad Li Halan. was involved.Ines was nearly killed during a Muster mercs attack and was only saved thanks to Manuel's theurgic powers. Alejandro then took command over the forces of Manuels's relatives - using his superb Tactics skills, he did beat the crap out of the opponents. Before that, however, he did meet Ines in her space yacht in Delphi orbit. What he heard as a goodbye -'kill them all'.

Summary by - Alejandro is his character.

What happened to Stigmata?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Misieq79 In reply to ShadowedAcolyte [2010-03-07 11:07:47 +0000 UTC]

What happened on Stigmata in 'our' timeline is 'slightly' incompliant with the Lifeweb sourcebook, but here it goes.

After leaving Hira (i described the history in profile of my Emperor class battleship), both Juan Montgomery and Alejandro, as well as all of the Hiran officers, were sentenced to death by Archduke of the Hazat - by default judgement, for heresy and treason (i.e negotiating with Kurga and 'selling' them the planet). Juan Montgomery stayed on Stigmata with his sister Lucinda - and in august 5003 a meeting of all Hazat opposing the current archduke took place there. Alejandro came there to swear loyalty - and contribute his private army to the cause.

(Disclaimer: much earlier we discovered a then-unknown system called the Keth-Kordeth, which has jumps to Sutek, Leminkainen, Shaprut and Daishan, wpied the Symbiot infestation and received fiefs from the emperor there - thus, at the time Alejandro had some 3 million serfs, most of them Emperor War vets - so his private army was huge and well-trained)

Ines arrived there and Lucinda asked Alejandro to accompany her. Ines insisted on a trip outside the city, and then there was typical 'oh sh**, there's too many of them' and they were captured by the Symbiots of the Dark Womb, led by Alejandro's former comrade.
(Yep, I know that Dark Womb operated in secret and if they built but one tiny hive on their own, it'd be obliterated on instant by other Symbiots)
They were imprisoned in a hive. Everything was part of the plot to assasinate Juan Montgomery - and orchestrated by members of Manifested Light, who feared that Lucinda would give Juan part of the Stigmata army. So Doppelgangers of PCs were left in the place of skirmish - and 'Alejandro' was supposed to kill the duke.

As Alejandro was a psionic, his Urge proposed a deal: Alejandro would release him, and in exchange the Urge would release Alejandro, Ines and her bodyguard.
Alejandro agreed, but didn't realise what his dark twin had in mind. Who, after releasing, voluntarily symbiotized himself and took control of the Hive.

He kept his word and released the prisoners. After a long trip, they found a crashed fliter with operational radio inside - and managed to call an evac.
Quoting Lucinda Dulcinea afterwards - 'Your Urge went Symbiot and leads the Dark Womb now? Well, we're in deep sh** now'

And they were. The Symbiots started a huge offensive (our GM apparently forgot that Stigmata's egg wouldn't survive that) and by march 5004 seized the entire planet. Lucinda is considered MIA.

Well, Lifeweb was an annoying book that for me ruined the Symbiots (though I use it for their powers/abilities, still), so it doesn't bother me that you took that twist.

Was the PC's Urge that high enough that splitting off didn't take much effort? Still, that's a pretty epic turn of events. Sounds like you guys had some pretty intense sessions.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Misieq79 In reply to ShadowedAcolyte [2010-03-07 12:50:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, initially Alejandro's Urge was just at 1, but he repeatedly did Call upon The Shadow and voluntarily pumped it to ten.

And we did have VERY intense sessions

But it's always better than nothing, i guess
