Drew Niko, inspired by Lord Gwyn from Dark Souls.
I think this is what would happen after Niko put the bulb. He became the guardian of the bulb! Forever! Maybe not, until the bulb is starting to dying again and you know what that meansβ¦Β

Imagine this as a boss battle.
Let's say in an AU where the game slightly changes each time you play through, even if you delete all the saved game files. On your 65th playthrough, before you start a window opens and asks "Are you are sure if you want to do this?". You don't think much of this and you click yes. You are blinded.
When you awaken, you find you are in the game itself, however you are a spectral like entity that only a select few characters can see, but all can hear if you are nearby, but it sounds as if it's a whisper.
Anyway, onto the main point of this. Game continues as normal, until you reach the tower. Once you get inside with all four golden items, you black out.
When you awaken, you find yourself in a black void. In front of you is Niko.
But not the one you took on your most recent journey that dragged you into this world. No.
This is the absolute first Niko, who has grown older, the one you sacrificed to bring life to the world. Their eyes are filled with malice and hatred. They trusted you, they thought you'd find a way to bring them back. They felt your presence. Each time though you pulled away. Eventually, Niko snapped.
Niko somehow broke free of the first world, and shattered the light themselves. Instead of going home, they instead gained the power of the sun. So they waited. Waited for the opportune moment to drag you here and kill you themselves. You only have Oneshot, and two choices. Kill the Niko you first bonded with, or take who knows how long trying to plead for them to reconsider. You have one weapon. You can use the glitches throughout this world.

I'd see him going down a similar route to Mithos Yggdrasil in Tales of Symphonia. Both of them are kind souls, and both of them felt abandoned.
