Strengths:
Loyal: Tajiri has grown up with a strong sense of loyalty and duty to his pride, something he absolutely takes to heart. It's something he puts a huge value on -- everything he does is, in his own eyes at least, for the pride. He greatly admires King Orso and has a strong desire to defend the pride, although it's not quite clear from what exactly. He regularly talks about his dreams of serving the pride as a warrior or, if he can, as a member of the Lion Guard.
Strong: Even at his young age, Tajiri is already showing some signs of physical power. He has a relatively easy time pinning most of the other cubs in the pride to the ground, and would likely even be able to get a hit or two in on an older lion if he were attacked.
Charming: Tajiri is well-liked by most who he meets -- he has a largely pleasant personality and is already quite good at knowing how to say the right things to endear himself to others. He can be a bit grating on those who would call him rival however, and it's not that he's friends with the whole pride by any means, but to most he is reasonably likeable.
Determined: Tajiri will not back down from a challenge and is highly motivated. Anything he finds difficult -- physically at least -- he inevitably will come back to again and again until he can take it on. He's very goal-oriented and aware of what he wants out of life.
Courageous: The phrase 'lion-hearted' very much applies to Tajiri, he's very bold and rarely hesitates to try something new or to take on something challenging.
Weaknesses:
Reckless: With bravery often comes foolhardiness, and Tajiri is no exception. He leaps before he thinks and does so often with disregard for not only his own wellbeing, but those around him. He very much has a blind spot, in particular, where imagined glory is concerned; if he believes doing something will net him good standing and a sense of importance within the pride, he will do it.
Proud: To the point of arrogance. It's often the spot where his charm fails him, where his peers can see right through him. While he is quick to claim that everything he does is for the pride, to believe that his strict loyalty to the pride means he can be called selfless, the root drive is always Tajiri's own ego.
Stubborn: He is incredibly pigheaded and often believes he's right about things even if he's not.
Indulgent: A trait that only rarely rears its head at his age, but he's very driven by pleasure. If something makes him feel good, it's worth doing again, something which leads him to being self-serving at times.
Domineering: Another aspect to his personality that can break his endearment to others, Tajiri enjoys being in charge and is quick to try to take charge in whatever he's doing. Even playing with other cubs he can become insufferable about this -- being very particular and bossy about how the play can happen.

Biography:
Tajiri has been eager to please and determined from the moment he could form conscious thought. He has always been among the strongest among his peers, and has been steadily honing that; his drive to succeed and to be a hero to his pride have kept him actively engaging in self improvement from a very early age. He wants to be impressive -- to be not just noticed, but adored and admired by those around him, and while he hasn't had many opportunities yet to make that happen, he's been putting his best foot forward for sure.
Already, he has shown a penchant for recklessness in the face of danger -- he was watching a particularly large raven from a distance one afternoon with the other cubs and became convinced he should try to stalk it and kill it to be food for the pride. Some egged him on, others suggested it might not be the safest prey given it was nearly as long as he was at that time, but he was determined to take the feathered creature down. A well-aimed pounce later and he had it in his jaws for a glorious moment, before it nipped down hard on his ear, taking a sliver of flesh with it, and escaped.
While this was, to the adults, a minor incident, to Tajiri it was something more: proof he could be something fierce and powerful someday, an idea which has wedged itself so deeply into his mind that it's almost all he thinks of, his desire to serve the pride as a warrior.
