Another drawing I finished while at work last night!Β I originally wasn't going to upload it, but I know I haven't been that active lately so I should at least make something! This is probably one of the best sketches I've made so far (especially since it took around 3-4 hours) and I really hope you all enjoy until I'm back for when Spring Break hits!Here's the reference I used by the way: 3.bp.blogspot.com/_tLESWCj7nLEβ¦

I actually just did a graphite sketch, but drew her shadow in just pen ink... Makes for a great contrast!

Do you always use a reference or did you do some pics yourself and i just didn't realize?
(actually i didn't really 'open' all of your pictures, but i looked at them and it seemed like you used one. If not...it's my fault for thinking you did)

Whenever I do, I always cite the source, but for my own personal drawings that I don't upload I go from scratch...

How long does it take you to draw something like that?
You said this one took 3-4 hours; is that normal? Or did you put more/less efford into it?

Like this? Yea 3-4 hours easily... I'm also drawing on a sketchbook, so erasing pencil lines can be really tricky... It's why each line has to be practically perfect each time... When I ink and color a drawing I can go a bit faster since the graphite will be overwritten...
I totally put a ton of effort into this one though... My favorite drawing of Rei I think I've ever done...

Ok...
So i'm not the only one who has problems with pencil lines. All of my friends wonder why i'm drawing thin lines, but they always have to make a copy of their original picture...
I'm not using ink, but i'm thinking if i should. And i think i will, even if it's just for the looks of it.
And i really think it's the best one you've made so far.

Right... The overlay of ink is of course permanent, but you get to remove all the messy pencil lines (if there are any)...

When i started drawing there were so many lines that i threw away some pictures...
If i look at them now, they look really bad even if i did them only one year ago...
I've still got those lines, but i can remove them because they are not really important. And in the end it even looks good, so i'm quite satisfied with them.
