I've been to Haslemere
When I first saw this picture I thought the yellow section was fire, it was only when I full viewed that I realised it was just the way the light fell on the plants. I like the way that it sort of decieves the eye and you really have to look close at it.

Ooh, this is very painterly. I really love the light shining through, but I feel like the composition is a little top-right heavy. If you cropped some of that, more attention would be drawn to the lighter area, and it would be more balanced. Beautiful, though

I was glad to see it wasn't fire because the whole "risking life for art" isnt all that productive good thing its just plants lol. i like the contrast in lighting, but in agreement with some of the other comments you received the border should indeed be black.
