Finally some Lodoss fanart again
i already felt guilty, that i didn't submit something for such a long time... especially since i have alot sketched, that only needs to get outlined + coloured. This year, yes!I noticed that many RoLW fanarts are either redrawn pictures from the original animes or art, which always shows the same characters, the elves seem to be the fav motive for fans (no wonder - they're lovely). So i thought i do something different, a scene, that is not shown in the films.
And sorry for this awful colouring, i wanted to try out a new way to shade, but i guess i do that just once. It's so blurry...

I rewatched the whole anime a few weeks ago and rememberd a small conversation between Ashram and Neese, where he wanted to know, where Brahmds' treasures are. The priestess was shocked as she heard, that he had killed the peaceful dragon Brahmd and told him, that he gave all his treasures to her years ago and she used it to restore the temple of the godess Marfa. ... and Ashram left the place to slay the next dragon.

Ich weis nicht,aber diese Szene kommt mir win wenig bekannt vor.

Vielen Dank für dein Lob, das freut mich echt, da ich das Ding ursprünglich überhauopt nicht fertigmalen wollte, da es nur eine kleine Skizze war, die ich dann einfach digital vergrößert habe.
Die Chroniken von Erdsee kenne ich schon, war aber nicht sonderlich davon angetan, da sie so düster und hilflos wirkten. Da gefällt mir Record of Lodoss War tausendmal besser... auch wenns ebenfalls düster ist.

Hat sich doch gelohnt es fertig zu stellen. Mir gefällt es sehr gut.
Den Film kenne ich gar nicht. Klingt sehr spannend. Mal sehen ob er auf youtube ist. Dann habe ich wieder einen Grund Abends einen Film zu sehen

Macht ja nichts, ist bei mir genauso. Ich müsste eigentlich mal zwei,drei Tage 24 h online auf DA sein um alles Nachrichten zu beantworten. Ich finds schon immer unangenehm, wenn ich es 2 Monate später schaffe, zurück zu antworten.
Was ich unternommen habe? Öh, nicht sonderlich viel, um ehrlich zu sein. Momentan bereite ich mich auf meinen Bachelor in Geschichte vor, fange morgen mit einem Praktikum bei der Diakonie an und habe vorletzte Woche die Wohnung von meiner Oma mit ausgeräumt. Schwerstarbeit!
Letzte Woche war ich krank, hatte so eine richtig schöne Grippe.
Irgendwie kennt den keiner xD, obwohl er doch recht populär ist. Naja ist ja auch schon 20 Jahre alt und diese Animewelle ist ja erst in den letzten 10 Jahren so richtig nach Deutschland geschwappt. Oder so.
Also ich kann ihn dir nur wärmstens empfehlen, ich find ihn super, vor allem die schönen Charakterdesigns und den Zeichenstil. Viel detaillierter als die Animes von heute.

Das verstehe ich gut. Mir erging es nicht anders. Je mehr es wurden desto mirser fühlte man sich bei einem Blick in die messagebox. Zum Glück ist es fast geschafft. Aber es wird dir auch keiner etwas krum nehmen,wenn es mal länger dauert.
Uih..respekt! Ein Bachelor Studium. Und der Themenbereich Geschichte klingt interessant. Wie bist du denn aif diesen Zweig gekommen?
Dann wünsche ich dir viel Spass bei deinem Praktikum.
Das Glaube ich dir. Eine Wohnung zu enträumen ist äusserst anstrengend.Oh man und auch noch eine Grippe. Und du sagst es ist nicht viel Geschehen.
Ich hab mir mal deinen Link angesehen. Ein sehr cooles Prolog. Sehr schön gezeichnet und die Geschichte ist sehr episch.

Jetzt wollte ich hier schon so oft hintexten und immer hat die Technik dazwischengefunkt. ^^ Weiß kaum mehr was ich sagen wollte.
Als das Bild in der Vorschau ausgetaucht ist hab' ich auch erst mal ncht erkannt das das von dir war. Hat 'n ganz anderes flair, nicht schlecht.
Aber was meinst du nur mit verschwommen? Gerade die Figueren sehen doch gestochen scharft aus, nur der Hintergrund ist recht flüssig, nur der ist nun auch nicht im Fokus. Da verwirrst du mich etwas. Der Vordergrund ist ja so 'ne Art weiches Cellshading und sieht wie gesagt immer noch schön schnittig aus. Nur die Outlines sind relativ unsauber - wenn du schon über was meckern willst.
Und die Szene hast du auch schon gestaltet. Wie die im Vergleich winzigen Hände da auf den riesigen Drachenschädel treffen. Uuuh, dramatisch.

Yes, i like my normal style also more, but i wanted to imitate the style of the anime this time, with more or less success.
Well knights and dragons are just predestinied enemies... i rarely heard of the opposite. Dragonheart maybe? But should i tell you something? Would've been worser, if Brahmd would've killed Ashram

Nice work, I think the shading looks fine, leans coser to the original art style. I feel like the pine trees at the bottom could have been a bit more refined as they're closer to the foreground and the backgroud could use a tad more contrast if I compare it to the more vivid coloration of the dragon. Overall, a nice experiment so to say. Hope you picked up a few new useful tricks while working on this one.

Thank you, yes that was, what i wanted to try out, since i just love this detailed Lodoss Characters, where you can see every single strand of hair.
That's true, i somehow added the trees to fill the empty mountains a bit but i didn't paid much attention at their details, just at their size :/.

I am not familiar with this anime it seems whether this is a representation from an actual scene or none at all. I think this is a nice image of a priestess in this case gently touching the nose of a peaceful dragon. I think the sunset in the background is a nice touch and a warm sentiment to this image as a whole it looks quite well in my opinion.

As i mentioned in the discription of the picture it is based on a conversation, that two characters have, but such a scene does not exist in the anime itself.

This is real beautiful work here, the shading around the head and the under-neck really fits in with the way the sun is, the womans dress also looks really lovely. all and all, this is a really beautiful shot, think I could stare at it all day if I could XD

Yeah, I know what you mean about alot of Lodoss art just being traces and scans and no original art; then again, its like that with almost every anime out there.
Its good you decided to try and use a scene from the show, but then draw it yourself with a different environment. Good job, overall. You can tell that Brahmd has a connection and gratitude to Neese and so guards her diligently.
And yes, I remember that scene with Ashram. I even remember the quotes.
"Then you must have seen Brahmd?"
"Indeed! He gave me a rather nasty welcome. But I'm sure the ice dragon regrets that now."

That's true. I guess many are just too lazy to come up with personal ideas, or want to imitate the animes' style. But i have to admit, that there are also differences between the traces, some only trace the lineart, while others really have some quality shading or more.

I didn't even know, that some dragons hibernate, but that surely explains, why Ashram could kill this dragon on his own. Somehow that's pretty impressive.
