It's like a giant swamp monster
I can see you'd like critiques on this, so here's my take: it's big, but I'm not sure it's large enough to be called a colossus. When I think colossus I imagine something twice the size of what you've drawn, though this is probably because I've played Shadow of the Colossus (if you haven't heard of it check it out, I'm sure it would be inspiring for this artwork ). I also think this picture needs some more background lighting, something to really draw the viewer's eye to the features of the colossus. I would have loved to see you incorporate other parts of 'earth' as well, such as rocks, maybe some leaves here and there, and possibly even bits of plantlife that is decaying.
I hope this has helped a bit

I second what *Ragaru said and when I looked it in the deviations, the picture looked too contrast and I couldn't really see anything until I clicked on it, looking for more details. It would be better if you added more light in the background and put more dark in where dark places are supposed to be, making it stand out more.

Otherwise, good job. Keep it up.

Interesting one..
But Sarge.. YOU CAN DO BETTER!
Where's the vision, where's the colossal hugeness!?

You have to put more into it than this... It's all about making it appear colossal it have to be seen from a lower perspective.. or far away.. you have to make the surroundings give away the size.. not some foreground figures.
You need to make it stand out, increase contrasts make it brighter!

I say this because this is a though contest.. That I am sure of..
So I will to do anything I can to make my friends entries aim for the prize...
So I might be harsh upon this one.. But I want you to reign among the top of the mountain of all entries...

Sarge.. This isn't about winning.. this is about the Vision, the medium of art and to truly bring a colossal entity into visualization trough the tip of your digital brush!
Think trough all aspects.. it gotta be breathtaking.. details harmony and chaos contrasts of interest... you gotta put your whole mind into it and do something truly amazing, for I know... You an do that.. don't fail me on this one Sarge!

... I believe in you!

Ragaru...

Thank you so much for your honesty, If something is wrong... i am so glad i am told and not have it left untold. Of course... this would not be a final piece... it was a preliminary idea... but in truthful honesty... i did forget about a low perspective, so thank you for reminding me of that. Character design is certainly not my forte, there is much for me to learn.

With me concentrating so much on the character... i made the rookie mistake of forgetting the core principles of art... oh the shame!

I shall leave it up here though... to show progression... hopefully

Everything you have said is so true, and something i seemed to overlook... i was blinded for some reason, and could not remember the most core and simplistic of properties.

I will try again and damn-it it WILL be better!

Thank you so much man!

I know you will, you're a artist with the ability to visualize amazing things!

You only have to put you'r whole body and soul into it, make a miniature diorama of the scene with materials as simple as paper, then take a picture of it in alow perspective, and use it as a base for the perspective of the digital piece.

As for the PC/mac monitor brightness/contrast issues.. You just have to stick with what is closest to the common settings on pc's and other computer devices...

Now I'll try to envision my colossous and evetually visualize it, so I'll be joining you as well.

And if you need feedack on your progression from me just upload wips or note me
