The chrome on this is absolutely mind-boggling. You must have amazing artistic vision to be able to see it properly to paint it. It's either that or magic, I think. Beautiful!

Thank you very much!! I concentrate on (1) the shapes of color and (2) how those shapes blend together (when they actually do). I find that this isn't really a conscious method of working for me; I just do it and when I finish a painting I realize that's how I got through it. I focus so tightly on the minute details in both the painting and the reference that I often can't see what a particular spot is supposed to be until I finish and stand back and take in the whole painting.

I do that as well in my portraits - I occasionally catch myself forgetting what the subject is because I focus on, say, a patch of hair or a bit of fabric. I've seen a lot of car art, and I think in all honesty that this is some of the best chrome there is, particularly in the medium.
