Description “I know who you are.” Sherlock looked the Doctor straight in the eye, his expression stern and unfaltering. “In fact I know what you are too.”

“No.” The Doctor leant forward a little, now completely oblivious to the staring eyes of Amy, Rory and John. This man fascinated him. “No one in this universe does, I can promise you that.” It sounded like a challenge but Amy noticed the fleeting, distant look in his eyes.

“A traveller.” He was quick to accept the challenge. “With something to hide and he’s always running, but from what? Something big, and terrifying because this man terrifies the universe. A lost man, no home, always ready to die for the right cause. But then he found somewhere to belong, something to live for and it changed him. But that was so long ago, or feels it.” Sherlock paused, his brow furrowed and his eyes narrowed as he stared at the Doctor as if trying to analyse him. “Something changed; you’re a lonely man and a different man to then, who’s always trying to fill the void. You need a friend; sometimes you just need someone there…” The man suddenly looked confused. “And for some reason you wish you were ginger. Which is why you travel with her?”

“Doctor?” Amy stared at him in wonderment. If this was all true how had he managed to keep it hidden for so long?

“And you, Amy was it?” Sherlock cut in before the Doctor had a chance to admit to anything from his previous regenerations. He took a cautious nod from the ginger girl as permission to continue. “Scared that commitment means becoming boring, so you ran away on an adventure, but only because you knew with all certainty that you could return home at any time. Which means you didn’t want to run away forever, perhaps because you didn’t want to miss out on him.” Sherlock pointed to Rory for a moment, his focus lapsing for a second before it returned to Amy. “You love him, which means you must have known you could return to the exact same place and time.” His eyebrows raised the slightest bit. “Time travellers. There’s something new. Except you must have felt guilty and gone back to bring him along on the adventure, and there’s something else.” He stared at her with wondering eyes. “Something not quite right, something missing.”

“Hey!” Amy cut in defensively. “There’s nothing else, nothing missing. You don’t know me, what gives you the right to think you know my life?”

Sherlock ignored her interjection; he knew without a doubt that he was right. “And then there’s Rory, so hopelessly in love with her aren’t you? You’d have waited forever for her to come back, in fact you’d wait two thousand years if you had to. But you’re scared that one day you won’t measure up and she’ll find someone better, perhaps someone like the Doctor, so you jumped at the chance to come along because you hope that one day she’ll see that you’ll always be right by her side, you’ll be there if he disappears again, loyal to the end, completely and utterly devoted to her.”

Rory stared aghast at him. “What…?” He breathed. “That’s fantastic! How did you know that?”

“Oh.” The consulting detective smirked at him. “That was easy; the t-shirt.”

“Oh my God, Doctor!” Amy looked to the Doctor, expecting him to intervene with one of his clever remarks. “He’s a psychopath!”

The old Time Lord’s expression remained unchanged throughout the conversation, this man was unlike any he’d seen before, he was a genius, always cool and calculated, but he was cold, so cold and that was what fascinated him the most. “No Amy, he’s a high-functioning sociopath.”

Thank you! Well that series arc is my favourite, and as much as my friend requested Eleven/Sherlock art, Rose is my favourite companion and I loved the show much more when RTD was in charge.

That arc was pretty brilliant, but I like DW in general with Moffat in charge. RTD in charge wasn't bad, but I'm still more likely to head for season five - or maybe season four if I had to.

I really don't like it with Moffat in charge, I could tell you why but I don't want to end up annoying you, I just don't find anything to enjoy when watching it - I just get angry most of the time. I started watching from RTD and love Classic Who but just not Moffat's era.

TimeLord10WizardMoon In reply to Abboz [2012-04-14 18:52:03 +0000 UTC]

I understand you.

I've seen a bit of classic, watched all through the RTD era, and then went 'oh God, the creator of the Angels is taking over'.

I suppose the same reason I love Moff as exec is the same reason I hate him as exec - he's always finding new, clever ways to thrill/terrify us. But that's *always* what he's doing - there's rarely a break - no 'just for fun', plot-light eppies, of which RTD managed a couple.

Abboz In reply to TimeLord10WizardMoon [2012-04-14 19:24:18 +0000 UTC]

I dunno I just think Moffat thinks he's a genius and is scaring & confusing everyone but his "complicated" plot lines actually don't make sense and the "scary" creatures run on the same random unexplained evil tendencies, and his idea of love regarding the Doctor is tell us don't show us so we don't see any love for us believe they'd ever be in any kind of relationship (even when I don't see him as the same man as his previous regenerations that still irritates me) and I don't particularly like his attempts at providing a woman that's perfect/worthy of the Doctor, and I could go on really. I much preferred being entertained by writers that wanted to entertain, I didn't even really enjoy Moffat's episodes when RTD was in charge but I love the rest (except for maybe the last series of specials) which to me says a lot about the way he writes.

TimeLord10WizardMoon In reply to Abboz [2012-04-14 20:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Mm, I see your point.

What do you think of the Moffat eps of Sherlock? I know there are three writers, which means at least one per season is him - what do you think of those?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abboz In reply to TimeLord10WizardMoon [2012-04-14 20:23:01 +0000 UTC]

I like them in the sense that the level of ridiculous is part of the story of Sherlock Holmes and I enjoy watching them but I still find myself criticising the occasional bit and do identify Moffat in them through making something more ridiculous than it needed to be, or that added twist in the episode that didn't add anything and was really just there to be smart etc. I enjoy Sherlock more but I do think that that could be partly down to Mark Gatiss being able to reign him in and tell him what he can and can't do. Kind of in the same way that I liked The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances even when Moffat wrote it, probably because RTD got to edit it.

Alright, I get you.

On a side note, when you said "Mark Gatiss being able to reign him in and tell him what he can and can't do", my whole brain went "Yer Mycroft is showing there!" Probably not funny to any one else, but...

This is amazing loving the little fic, little fics are cool!
Honestly it's really good you should think about writing fanfics maybe not this as you've already said maybe something else?
But I really love this thanks for writing it

Abboz In reply to icewormie [2011-08-17 15:40:24 +0000 UTC]

I do write fanfics (not for Sherlock though) there are plenty in my gallery if you want to look.
Thank you.

I like this, I really do. Are you planning on making a Doctor Who/Sherlock fic? I would definitely read it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abboz In reply to KenxKao [2011-04-29 17:26:33 +0000 UTC]

Thank you I wasn't really planning on doing one - this ficlet was it - because I think it would be incredibly hard for me to keep both in character (plus no plot ideas) But thanks all the same

THIS IS AWESOME I LOVE IT!
I love the writing, it's so amazing. And the manip too ;D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abboz In reply to midnighttopha [2011-02-07 00:44:49 +0000 UTC]

Aha glad you like it. The writing took stupidly long for just one scene but i kinda wanted to try and get all Sherlock's babbling in but include stuff like the "wait 2000 years" and "fleeting distant look"

I loved doing the manip! I had far too much fun, even if finding the right screencaps was evil!

Well it's like i hated it at church in "Bible Study" when they'd literally make us take it in turns to read a passage of the bible and they they'd tell us what it means... it's like English classes but 100x worse!

Lol i dunno if you saw this venn diagram on tumblr but it was like "what the teacher thinks the book or poem means" "what the author meant" with a tiny overlap and then "what i thought" miles away. Made me laugh - so true!

midnighttopha In reply to Abboz [2011-02-08 00:59:38 +0000 UTC]

Abboz In reply to midnighttopha [2011-02-08 01:04:16 +0000 UTC]

Maybe! But yeah i remember hearing about some poetry trip where the authors read some of their stuff and answered questions. And then some student said "my teacher said it means...." and the author goes "ooo i never thought of that." cracked me up!

But it's like someone said to me about 'To Protect Her From Everything' - "oh i get it, it started off with Robin protecting Marian and now it's Guy protecting Hannah." and i was just sitting there like "erm, no... that was an accident..."

midnighttopha In reply to Abboz [2011-02-08 11:59:42 +0000 UTC]

It's true, though. My friend and I were talking about over-analysing in English class, and my teacher though we were cynics. Because we were supposed to be analysing.

Hahaha.

MY CD IS IN TRANSIT! and it's like a half hour away. COME ON! I'll probably get yelled at tonight, but w/e. I'm not seeing parents until 6:30 and I won't be home till like 9.

Abboz In reply to midnighttopha [2011-02-08 19:40:25 +0000 UTC]

"partyl" lol i meant partly! I'd much rather just enjoy reading the books, like i dont like film studies because i'd rather just watch the film/tv show!

Aha good luck!
7 hours! CRAZY

Yeah tell me about it! I mean the last week i had that module, our screening included Doctor Who! So i got to watch "Tooth and Claw" on a massive - cinema size - screen! But because it was the last week i was sitting there like "i'm not writing any notes! Stuff you!" and got rather too happy about all the "no no, don't do that." bits and the "naked girl" and "you're not amused are you?" Because i'm a nerd...

midnighttopha In reply to Abboz [2011-02-11 22:24:05 +0000 UTC]

Wait, that was a school assignment? That's freakin' awesome. I wish we did that.
Why would you want to take notes on something that's delicious and full of lots of cute Rose/Doctor moments? I would have done the same as you--just enjoyed it.

Apparently we have netflix for the wii, so I'm going to watch Army of Ghosts and Doomsday on Singles Awareness Day. If I'm allowed. If I'm not, I'll just watch some other Series 2 episode that's cute.

Yeah well it was a uni module, but yeah SO adorable i was like omg i'm just gonna enjoy this so much!

Ahhh sounds awesome! I don't know what i'm going to do. I mean i have a lecture 9-11 but after that i will probably sit and do art/play on the wii/watch dvds

I just watched Tooth and Claw yesterday too

Or maybe I'll just show up to school wearing all black and catch up on the homework I didn't do this weekend.
