This was Sunday at MegaCon 2009. I had changed from my Black Cat costume and realized that I didn't bring spirit gum remover or my regular contacts. Then I realized my hair was a mess beneath my wig. So I just threw on my shirt and jeans and continued to wander around as 'Casual' Black Cat. I ran into the talented, LJInto photographer, who actually remembered me from Dragon*Con 2008 and my Cloak of Twilight. He took this. I hope we can get together soon for more shots!!Heels kick ass, but sometimes there is nothing like a pair of jeans!

I think you could totally start a trend here! You really make the outfit look great, and your pose and expression are fantastic. And being comfortable is always good.
I agree with AH! If you do decide to do the bodypaint, a reflective or UV reactive paint would be a cool idea. *Nod* And also - Hot!

De nada. Remember me when you are rich und famous from 'casual cosplay'.
And you KNOW you will start buying clothes that simply go well with a mask, or wig, or some part of a costume. But it IS cool that you don't have to run back to your hotel room to get out of a costume; just bring the casual variation and get comfy.

START buying clothes? Start, lol. Already IN the wardrobe, my good man!! See Anita Blake pictures for proof. The only thing I made for that costume was the shirt. Everything else, from my wardrobe.
I do have to say that this 'casual cosplay' thing has struck a chord. I have a photo shoot scheduled for Poison Ivy (since the costume wasn't completed in time for the Black Cat shoot) and Chun-Li (again not completed in time) for this coming Thursday. I may throw in some 'casuals', as well. And I think that this will be my alternatives at cons for sure.

Oh, no offense to my mother taken. I'm sure she's somewhere looking up with pride. Oh, she's in Hell; she might've been my mom, but there's no way she's in Heaven. I don't think smoking is allowed up there.
Cortana.... honest thoughts? If you've got the body for it, that's the way to go. And by that, I mean if you give up good flesh. Some people have great figures, but only in clothing. Shape, muscle tone is one thing; aesthetic quality of skin is another. If you looke good in a bikini, you'll probably do great as Cortana. As for the actual 'costume', see if they can use paints that react interestingly to camera flash (like the reflective material on STOP signs) or something that looks glowy and blue under blacklight. Go for something that will make people go 'wow' at first, then 'WOW!!!' when they see the effect.
