Artie used to look more human. Her brother, Tiziano is a mad scientist,. When they were younger, Tiziano would use her as his guinea pig. One day, the experiment Tiziano was trying on Artie went wrong but it was also successful at the same time. Artie's DNA changed and formed her to look more turtle than rather human, their parents were horrified. But Artie seemed to be fine with the transformation and admired Tiziano's scientist abilities.
