Description
Introducing one of my very favorite – and most colorful – creations: Nepenthe!
She is Hellebore’s twin sister, a Tiger Shark Fox hybrid, who is brightly-colored like tropical fish :3. Nepenthe and Hellebore are my Piscean fursonas, based on the aspects of my personality that are connected to my zodiac signs/elements – Pisces [water, obviously] and the Rabbit [fire]. I chose to base them more on the Pisces, since that sign dominates my personality traits and behaviors, and because I love everything about the ocean; I’d live under the ocean if I could xD.

Nepenthe is named after Nepenthes rajah, the largest specimen of pitcher plant. It made sense, as she’s based on an aggressive, carnivorous species of large fish and the N. rajah is a large insectivore that also catches small mammals and reptiles lol.
Her colors also vaguely made me think of the Nepenthe genus, as most of the species I’m familiar with are green with purplish-pink accents.
I chose to make her half tiger shark, because I can relate to them lol – it was either that or hammerhead [my other favorite shark species], but I figured I could use hammerhead as inspiration for something else xD.

While her sister Hellebore is more docile and shy, Nepenthe is outgoing, can be [unintentionally] bossy, and quickly becomes aggressive if someone gives her a hard time. She is pretty good at holding back her anger, but will become highly unpleasant if pushed too far [like me – it takes quite a lot to annoy me, but once I get irritated I’m not fun to be around]. She never backs down from a fight, and only loses arguments with people who refuse to see things any other way. She is also good at diffusing trolls, since she likes to poke fun at things she likes and isn’t terribly sensitive about how other people view her/her interests.

While she can be seen as a bit of a bitch, she’s actually quite good-natured, and is very friendly when treated with the appropriate amount of respect [like most animals; if you don’t want to get bitten, don’t poke and prod them lol]. Nepenthe is the stronger and braver aspect of who I am [which coincides with the fire element] – she faces things head-on with limited reservation and rolls with the punches quite well. For Nepenthe, as with me, hope springs eternal – if something gets her down, she just remembers that all things are transitory, and in the end, the negative things in life won’t matter anymore.
