No. He remains mild and gets beaten. He doesn't do much except a little fight at the end. And the anime ends with a cliffhanger. It's a good anime but the ending is a cliffhanger.

It's mecha anime. Mecha... mecha everywhere. Big robot machines which people operate. Fight with martians who have better machines than them. This anime was exaggerated as the best of 2014. I didn't like it much though.
