She always had that... She was so shy
But she was one of those who loved some attention from us humans =^_^=
She was more shy toward her kitty family then her human one

You got a kitten at THIS age?!!! =O
Poor thing! It's only one third of the age it SHOULD be when leaving mom
Thats horrible, the kittens get mentally scared when riped away from it's family to early :'(

This kitten was with it's mom till the age of 20 weeks (12 is minimum, but due to it's shyness we had her a bit longer)

Never take a one month old away from home, they must be three months or more

ArtByKassie In reply to Zun0 [2007-10-13 23:40:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I know. He was lost or got separated from his mom. I was at the beach and he (named him Seabreeze) was walking a long the sidewalk crying so loud it sounded like he was screaming. No cats anywhere around, so when I left about an hour later, I took him home with me. He grew into a wonderful cat, the best cat I've ever had!
I guess the trauma of loosing his mother was replaced with a wonderful thing called food, or I became his mom when I fed him. He was soooo hungry!!!!!!

Aww, thats such a sweet story =^_^=
When taken from the hard life of the street they do tackle it better
I saved a kitten once too, found her a nice home
I think she was 7 weeks old when I found her (based on eyes who had changed colors completely), but the size of a 4 week old due to starvation
I wasn't able to get her siblings.... a week later they were dead
If only they wernt so scared of humans...

That's so sad, many stray kittens are very scared of humans, that can be both good and bad. But at least you got to save one. I'm assuming she got a good home and is now healthy and happy.
Most of my cats have been rescued strays. Seabreeze's story was mild compared to Pepper's. He is a declawed cat that was abandoned when his owner moved. When I found him at my back door begging for food, love and a new home I was afraid to take him in because he looked sick but the vet said he seemed healthy, just starving. He was an adult cat and only weighed 4 pounds ( I don't know the metric conversion). That was almost 6 years ago. Now he's quite healthy and very happy -- see for yourself ... [link]

Poor thing
I've never understood how people could abandon their pets.....
I'm glad he got a good home =^_^=

All my cats have been adopted too. My first cat Felix i got from a farm. No one had ever held him before, and they wanted to get rid of them (one way or the other...death being the other ) So I begged my mom to keep it. He was my first cat, the life long dream was finally come true! It only took 11 years
Not long after he got a new friend. She was owned by the people renting our apartment (not that they were allowed to have any animals...) She was so tiny and cute when I first saw her. She was bright white with a black line over her head, like a punk! When she was finally all grown up they had decided to get her put down, they no longer desired to have her
So we took over instead
She was my little angle, and they two of them was always together....then one day she got stolen
Some who had newly moved to Norway from somewhere else, and had problems communicating with Norwegians took her. I found out three years later, and they wouldn't even let me borrow her to take photos and say good bye (I have no photos of my baby )

Lastly is my "tiger" Ronja. She came to our door step, hungry dirty and looking for love =^_^=
We took her in, but tried to locate her family, thinking she might have just got lost. But she was always so aggressive, biting and hissing. She's still hissing but I've learned her not to bite. Before we decided to give up the search and get her fixed, she was definitely growing... So we ended up having one litter on her. All the kittens got good homes, even Duma the scared
And we kept the first born, Eevee. Got both her and her mom fixed so there would be no more.

The little kitten I saved I found a good home to. I've talked to the new owner a few times after I gave her away. Apparently she's following her new owner around everywhere and don't want to go outside =^_^=

Such wonderful stories. I got my 1st cat (an orange tabby, named Tansy) when I was 6 but she didn't get to stay with us long and then I got permission from my parents to keep a beautiful calico I'd found, I was eight when I got her (her name was Sundar). Since then I've had 12 cats, only 6 with me now. (2 females that are exactly a year apart and 4 brothers/littermates that are 4 years younger than the females, not related)

Such a sad story of the one that was stolen from you -- very mean of them!!!!!!!!

Why do people get kittens then when they grow up just get rid of them?!?!?!?!? It's like they don't realize that babies grow up.

Glad to hear the little one is doing well and definitely attached to her new owner.

My original watermark was on my external hard drive (which refused to work) so I had to make a new one. I think I like this one much better
And making it look like a part of the pic was what I tried for, so I'm glad you thought it did look like it
