Winter is stifling.....I hate being cold, don't know why I live so damn far north....LOL
I have been so busy with the holiday I have had really NO time to pursue my own photography, clients, clients, clients.....I am doing 3 different print adds for restaurants right now, it is sooooo boring taking pictures of food.....ha.....but it pays the bills.
Just got a 3 inch hit of snow last night, so tomorrow I am heading out to my favorite nature area and see if I can get some good winter shots....I don't have a single one in my gallery....wish me luck.

I wish you tons of luck! I am up north now too, Pennsylvania. From Texas though, I too have no idea how I ended up in such a cold place with what seems like 9 month winters. I do love the snow though for about the first 10 minutes then I run back into my nice warm cozy home just to do it all again with the next snow accumulation.
I was wondering why I haven't seen anything from you in my watch folders, that explains it. I imagine it is a busy time of year for most photographers- do you do portraits also or mainly commercial? I tried to get some food shots once but my heart just wasn't in it so everything came out looking non edible ha ha ha. Same thing goes for people shots, which is a shame because there is money in that once a person gets good. I am too self conscious to talk to a human being in person, much less photograph them!
I just use photography as a hobby, something about capturing the things I find beautiful in what can be a ugly world just helps me find a balance of sorts. I have been doing it seriously as a hobby for less than 2 months, but taking pictures on and off for 3 years. I love it so far. Your work is astonishingly good, I can see why you are swamped this season!

Well lots of shots today, nice to have a few hours to myself...and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I walk back in my studio, my beautiful wife has a live plant of miniature white roses sitting on my desk waiting for my return, with a yellow sticky note just saying "missed you", knowing how much I love flowers, and the white is my "theme" today due to the snow. I look at them, and I think, (no joke here), you know who has been doing a great rose shoot, Angie from Deviant! I think I will take a cue from her shots and set up a macro of the blooms. My first two test shots look better then ANY of the fields of white today...LOLOLOL...could have stayed warm and inside today. Sometimes the most beautiful things are those right in front of us and yet we look over them at times, to try to see the "rest of the world". My beauty is right here, thanks to my wife!

Hahaha, take some indoors. All you need is a white or colored triboard (maybe some fabric is you want a different colored bg that isnt sold, a lamp and a bit of creative angles. It is what keeps me sane during the winter in my area. Outside everything is dead and foggy, not to mention bitter cold. I live in higher elevations of some Pennsylvania Mountains. Not too high, but because of the valleys that surround my city and those near by, there is never any light so I make my own. My dogs, cats, kids, husband, etc all look at me like I am a fool though when I am doing it, like the flowers are my super models, work ittt flower work itttt. Cheeky Grin!
I would love to see what you end up taking! Are you the one who's husband surprised them with a new camera a few weeks before Christmas? I think I commented on that journal and if it was you, that's how we met...my husband ended up doing the same thing a week later but to find out it was the same camera too, now THAT would be a small world. My memory is not what it used to be hahaha. So many words exchanged on this site
