Well Jim was a poet before a song writer.. But I would never negelect Robbie, Ray or John.. I mean The Doors music was and still is unlike anything ever heard... Strongly because of the Lizard King himself, but the Doors contribution to the musical elements of their "trip", as I like to call it, is definitly the epitomy of acid rock. And it's safe to say the Doors lyrics weren't entirely Morrison's, Robbie Krieger wrote parts of Light My Fire, and that song is by far their most popular. I love Morrison as a poet, singer, songwriter and lyricist and in my opinion he is THE person who brought intelligence, poetry and philosophy into rock n' roll music. And like it or not, if it weren't for Ray Manzarek and the rest of The Doors, Jim would probably have been an under-rated published author at most (well he is a published author, but that's where his legacy would've stopped I mean).
