It was part of the commissioner request, I consider that it could be nice to leave it there; since I do share with him this thought. We have had tough times with haters online and in our real lives

You're only inviting more haters by doing this. Nobody is going to be stopped by telling them to "deal with it".

My suggestion is to keep what you enjoy to yourself, or to groups dedicated to that subject. Tone it down in general. This is the thing that everyone who has "haters" cannot seem to understand - they annoy everyone around them by constantly gushing about the things they like, and then they are surprised when people get fed up with that and tell them to shut up/go away.
I make plush ponies. I do not know a single brony in real life, and I have very few friends who like MLP. I post my stuff everywhere, and have never gotten a single "hater". But that's because I do not have an MLP icon, I don't constantly post MLP related memes and pictures everywhere, and so on.

Well, I do keep what I like for myself only; I'm a very shy person, and I don't even have a pony shirt... though I use different sites where I upload my work, and where I know that will be only seen my the group of people that like it too (Like pony subreddits, DA pony groups, or with personal social accounts)

Well that's the same excuse that the haters use to do what they do... though in most of the cases you really have to search for this content in order to find it; and this means that you are doing it on purpose, and not just finding it "everywhere". In my personal experience, I got some haters because they are people that used to bully me since high school, way before the pony thing, and just because they wanted; and some here in DA because my role as an admin with the groups where I work.
My only brony friends are online, and I have never met them personally... though they have helped me more than any other person in my life, besides my family. That's why I like to be in this fandom, which is the main reason why I have a MLP icon... and in the case of the memes and such, I keep them for my private chat rooms in skype only.... I do agree that it can't be a common factor between all the members of a fandom, but you have to admit that you won't be able to find a single fandom without these kind of persons. It's the internet after all... I'm a member of the Avatar and Star Wars fandom, and the same things happen there.

Well, it sounds like we're just in different places in terms of social groups. I don't care about haters - people can dislike what they want, and they can voice their opinion if they want - I certainly voice my opinion on things, and I wouldn't like it if someone tried to shut ME up.
I don't want to turn this into an essay because I'm actually at work right now, but I'll just say this - the less you respond to haters, the less they bother you. You can train yourself to eventually just ignore them entirely and not care what they say. It's far more effective to do that than to tell them to "deal with it".

Yeah, I don't care anymore about haters or bullies... I like to discuss things as adults, as we are doing right now; but when they start to throw insults, I just block them and ignore whatever they say. It's just a waste of time and energy.
I don't want to turn this into an essay as well. I do agree with your position, and I do agree too that tell them to "deal with it" isn't just a good response; but since it is the commissioner wish, I can't just delete it (though part of me sometimes agree with that phrase, at least inside my mind).
