there's a lot of people that shouldn't be allowed on here, in fact racism, sexism, anti lgbt stuff etc is all against their own etiquette policy, it promotes hate, discrimination and prejudice which they say they don't tolerate so why anyone under these categories are allowed to spread their hate i beyond me.

I've got a particularly nasty story about some dickhead that hacked my old Deviantart profile and posted a journal consisting of nothing but the n-word and other racial slurs.ย ย I get accused of being racist by internet trolls even though those people are the ones using the n-word and using racial slurs to insult me and yet users like that get a pass?ย I'm sorry,ย but that's fucked up.

You should see the amount of anti-Muslim and anti-Christian nutjobs that get away with hate art. I've been on websites where people from groups who were persecuted were allowed to be racist towards the group that persecuted you. That's not how it should work - being Armenian doesn't entitle you to bash Turks, being Serbian doesn't entitle you to bash Croats and Bosniaks (pretty much every Serb I've encountered online was a rabid nationalist), being Jewish doesn't entitle you to bash Eastern Europeans and Arabs, and being a POC doesn't entitle you to bash white people.

No offense but religion isn't a race, it's a 'ideal' society claims. Christianity is fucked up as it is and deserves the hate it gets. I don't support bashing people of different races however.

Whilst I support freedom of speech as much as the next person, people need to learn a bit of humility, restraint and understand that some things are better left unsaid.ย

On one hand, if Neo-Nazis and White (or any other color) Supremacists want to be what they are, then let them be. After all, the fact that they choose to be racist will pretty much separate them from the world.
But on the other hand, I do agree that the admins need to crack the whip if racists do go out of line. Because they can't just play the "freedom of speech/expression" card every single time whenever they bring misfortunes upon themselves.

I don't hate a person for being gay or female or whatever. I'd hate that certain person for being a rude, cruel, asshole douche. Hating someone for their ethnic group is stupid, but I don't thinks it's stupid to hate a jerk, no matter what race, orientation, gender, body size or gender they are.

Every time I see hate towards another race because of their differences, beliefs, practices, etc, I cringe.. It makes me upset to see how many ignorant people there are out there that aren't willing to learn about other cultures because of how different theirs is to their own... hopefully they didn't get these kind of views on other people because of that's how they were raised X_X. You really have to learn about the aspects of the people to actually understand them well. People have different ways of living, and different reasons of how to live it, and it might not be the same as yours. When I was younger, I used to have a problem when I lived in a community with people of a different race, I felt kind of worried and paranoid being around them because my parents always told me only the bad things about them and the good things. After living with them for a while, I started to notice the beauty and the uniqueness in them. Now, I see them as friends no matter how different we may be. We're all humans anyway. ^_^

i think it would be great if they banned people for stuff like that too but its not ever going to happen. then they would have to ban homophobes and then people would start on religion and whats considered morally acceptable and all this stupid crap. it would start too much of a chain reaction. and how could they monitor that sort of thing? they can barely monitor all the freaking porn and art theft on here
and i suppose it has something to do with artistic speech or something. im sure deviantart can come up with some excuse about how it's acceptable to express it if you're reasonable and i kind of agree. IF its reasonable. (and im speaking in the sense of art). because thats what deviantart is for. art. and artistic expression

I would add to that all kind of haters which hate/discriminate others for their nationality, religions/beliefs, sexual orientation. Its not only in comments, but also in deviations, groups etc.
I am afraid nothing can be done about it. DA is one big trashcan where everyone can upload everything he wishes. Also things full of hate. Worst thing may happen to him/her is ban. Oh well, he/she makes new account. But for sure ignoring such things is wrong. If we ignore relatively small acts of hate or violence, its just a matter of time till it grow bigger. Even though I doubt these people would dare to say hateful, racisistic things to others IRL, face to face.
DA should make some IQ tests, psychological tests, mental disorder tests; also limit amount of deviations added for 1 user per day - if they cant manage this mess.

Whenever I'm bothered enough to report them I always get a response saying that there's no action taken because the racist retard in question is only exercising their freedom of speech...
