Description This (2008-2009) is the season that made "The Peanuts" famous.
"Mutt-Kissers": The 100th episode! The Mutt pledges a life debt to Chas after the latter compliments dogkind; meanwhile, Lou calculates lists of everyone's faults. Based on the comics of January 1959 .
"The Face and the Phone": Lou says that Chas' face has no character; meanwhile, Luther turns to Harley for advice on giving up his phone. Song: "Failure Face". Based on February 1959 .
"Book Into Your Heart": Harley fears prosecution for an overdue library book. Based on March 1959 .
"Rain Games": Chas resorts to digitizing a Beagles game and holding it indoors when the game is rained out. Based on April 1959 .
"There's Something About Marriage": Part 1 of a two-parter. Chas tells his backstory, describing how he proposed to Rosie and how they birthed Harley. Based on May 1959 .
"Little Helen-Raisers": Part 2 of a two-parter. Chas' backstory continues, describing how difficult it was to raise Helen. Based on June 1959 .
"Bad News": Chas becomes worried about how the news is affecting Harley and Helen. Based on July 1959 .
"The Littlest League": Chas has to skip a baseball game to take care of Helen, but Helen may be happy to take his place as coach; meanwhile, Van gets a hobby throwing rocks at bad things. Based on August 1959 .
"Mutt-ternity Leaf": The Mutt disagrees with the uniformist philosophy of leaves. Based on September 1959 .
"Teacher Feature": Luther is taken out of Van's class, and falls in love with Miss Othmeier, the teacher of the new class. Based on October 1959 .
"Hallow Victory": The Pelt family celebrate their Celtic religious traditions for Halloween, but they try to convert the neighbors; meanwhile, the Browns discover that Pen's layer of dirt has a history. Based on November 1959 .
"Naughty or Vice": Luther debates morality when Van dictates his Christmas letter. Based on December 1959 .
"Igloos": Luther repeatedly forgets to bring eggshells to school, but this turns into the lead-in for Van and Sal retiring. Based on January 1960 .
"When Pell Freezes Over": Pelly is doomed by an icicle, and the Brown family resorts to agent-like means to set him free. Based on February 1960 .
"Whirlybird": Pelly rediscovers his ability to fly; meanwhile, Van's extremely technophobic parents visit the Pelt household. (Debut of Van's parents, Leopold and Lois Pelt). Based on March 1960 .
"Luther-ature": The Brown and Pelt parents help Luther conquer his fear of a librarian. Special guest voice: Whoopi Goldberg as herself, in a cutaway gag. Based on April 1960 .
"Slide, Harley, Slide": Harley attempts to score a game-winning home run, but slides all the way to the end of space. Based on May 1960 .
"Politically Incorrect with Rosie Brown": Rosie creates a political cartoon that sends her on the path to being the first woman president. Based on June 1960 .
"Project Runaway": After Luther gains the power to stop the rain with an incantation, he worries about becoming a false idol and runs away from home. Based on July 1960 .
"Cousin-ous Love": Helen develops a familial crush on Luther, who does not return it because they're family; meanwhile, the Beagles decide to start pitching by committee. Based on August 1960 .
"Highway to Pell": The town protests when a new highway threatens to demolish Pelly's house, but Pelly changes his tune upon realizing how rich owning a highway will make him. Based on September 1960 .
"The Gourds Must Be Crazy": The Pelts face religious persecution for their Celtic belief system. Based on October 1960 .
"Present Tense": Lou proposes a new winter holiday based on classical music, while Harold disagrees; meanwhile, the Mutt tries to embrace the dog side of his ancestry. Song: "Beethoven Day". Based on November 1960 .
"The Mad Punter": In a satire of the legend of O.J. Simpson, the Mutt discovers the joy of football theft and becomes a serial sports criminal; meanwhile, Luther fails to memorize a line for an audition. Based on December 1960 .
