It looks like it is laying better. What did you use for hoop wire?

Thanks. I was looking all over for something like that.

I agree though. It's fitting much better after doing random reductions, but I might change it again. It's for an early 16th century court gown. I'm planning to wait on anymore reductions or increases until the petticoats and skirts are done.

I used irrigation tubing for the hoops. It was cheap and pretty sturdy, but impossible to get it to uncoil. What did you use for yours, for future reference?

Since I am really hard on my stuff I ended up just purchasing some plastic covered hoop wire from Greenberg and Hammer. [link] It's pretty tough stuff. Mine is still going strong after two seasons of pretty hard wear. It is fairly flexible when I need it to be, but has held it shape despite being crammed in cars, thrown over garment racks and the usual faire torture.

Ooh I think I'll have to go for something like that next time. It sounds like it can resist anything...could be good considering how disastrous my house and room are.

It's what most of us use out at the faire because it can take the abuse. It's a little bit heavier than the buckram covered stuff, but is so much more durable.
