However, if I lean forward even slightly (as shown here) or walk too fast, my stockings-clad ankles are immediately revealed.

Going out in public while dressed in women's clothes necessitates being very, very careful. It is a big frisson, all the more so when you are severely handicapped by your feminine clothes but you know that no-one else can see it.
