I was originally going to show her smiling, but her more neutral expression ended up looking better when I tried it (plus, I kinda came up with a scenario for this image in my head where this works better by default).

Well, it's your opinion on whether she's beautiful, but I definitely intended to portray her as such. As for friendly... well I haven't really set up a personality for her as of yet, but the idea I had for her expression and posture is that she's come across a stranger at her home and is asking who they are and what their business is.
Oh and she's also supposed to be married (notice her left arm).
