I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that Leonard Nimoy is gone. It's rare that I make pieces to express my emotions; normally I'd rather do it to forget about my problems. This time, though... Leonard Nimoy's work meant a lot to me. Most, if not all of my characters and writing had origins in Star Trek or were inspired by it. Star Trek was my first introduction to science fiction itself, even, and my interest in those stories defines such a large part of me, to the point where it's heavily influenced what I would like to do with the rest of my life. In this case I just really needed to do something to memorialize him, in my own way. I can only hope it does him some semblance of justice.
