Day 8: Light Lost

Trying out a new format for the writing. Hopefully it's easier to see.

Short Story:

“We were fortunate that we were out to visit a friend when Ghaul attacked.” Ace said, “we were unfortunate however, that the loss of connection to the Traveler caused our light to weaken and put the balance of darkness at risk.”

They flinched, “It hurt. We could hardly move, let alone get to safety.”

“We were lucky that our friend was close enough to spot us and drag us to safety before the Red Legion could find us.”

Ace then flicked their optic over to Ianos, the latter of which was seated, a book in his hand, “However, thanks to his condition, Ianos was bedridden for a good majority of the Red War, and it is our regret that we could not help retake the Last City.”

“But for some reason, despite our absence, our light returned to us after the Traveler awoke. We have been curious, and confused, since.”
