Wow. This model is stunning! It's about time the bushwacker gets a big brother ~_^
j/k, it makes me mad when people do that too.
Still, this is a really awesome model. Can't wait to see it with some textures.

Awesome job. I wish I had the patience to do 3d work like that. -_-;

It's not easy, and it takes a lot of focus to keep patience levels high enough to keep going for the final product. Believe me, I had a few times modeling this where I wanted to give up, and on one of them, I damn near gave up working on it.

It's the renderer itself, as I've said it before in an earlier deviation with this model.

Those are some nice details, but why so many lights? (17) Why not use Mental Ray with Final Gather and a white dome? That would have done the trick.
BTW: Is that Maya?

Maya? No, I'm not using any "professional level application" for my work. It's all free 3D programs.
Wings3D with Toxic Engine plugin, and there's so many lights because enabling Indirect Lighting makes the renderer close itself by calling up some messed up Runtime Variable.

Yeah, I tried out the Maya PLE, but it didn't impress me much, mostly because you couldn't save anything over 100 polygons, which compared to this model, is a dime in a bank.
I put "professional level application" in quotes because it seems it's the "only" thing that can make a 3D Artist a 3D artist, rather than his/her skills. I don't knock other programs unless I've tried them, but the free programs are constantly on the receiving end of being bashed BECAUSE they are Free and in the right hands can compete with the "professional level application." Strange how that works out.
Considering the lengthy times of my renders, there's some justification in going to a pay-to-use program, rather than sticking with Free programs, but it basically beats the hell out of having to take 8xS anti-aliased screen shots with the programs default lighting, which hides details - The Render makes the model look better, despite long rendering times.
I did have 3Ds Max 6, got it from a friend, but the disc broke before my inevitable reformatting of my OS' drive to reinstall it, which lost all the REG data and installed requirements for the program to run.

Maya, in my oppinion is a great program in comparison with Max, the MEL scripts for it make it transform in any kind of tool you would like, and it can fit your needs, if you want, we can talk on e-mail with more in depth information. I tryed Max for a longer period of time, and recently switched to Maya.

Been thinking up scenes to put it in, but my idea's don't normally get executed often, because I have other things I end up working on. Somethings on the horizon, I just need to work towards that point.
