Yay vampires! Drawn for a contest here on DA. It took me forever to get her face right (and it is still not quite how I want it, but I don't know what else to change.) Usually I don't like drawing messy vampires but for this one I needed more red in the pic other than just her eyes.Here is a link to the contest: [link]

it looks fantastic! I think the shading is fabulous, and she is beautiful. But maybe how her body is facing forward and her head is to the side is what makes it just slightly off?

It probably is, I didn't use a specific referance for this, and whe I don't it ususally does end up looking a bit (if not a lot) off

nice... the details of the dress are pretty cool. I would have seen some darker colors (fits better to vampiric theme), but that's a personnal point of view

Usually I do like to have a darker color scheme for my vampires clothing , but I pictured her being a proper victorian lady (or whatever time period that dress looks like its from O.o) and a darker color just didn't seem to fit. I also decided on a dull green so that the red in the picture would stand out more, thanks for your comment!

I think the nose is your problem with the face. It has equal thickness from where it starts between her eyebrows all the way down to the tip. You should try to make it thinner and angled inward at the bridge of the nose and make the tip stick out more... don't know if any of that was understandable! :-p

I like the design but like on your other piece you need to push those highlights more. I would also suggest that you not worry about having everything all soft and smooth because this is causing the features to become less defined. Recently what I learned to do was to start off the picture in black and white shading then I take a layer over that in put that layer as a overlay or multiply I then start adding color as I see it needs so that the shading of the black and white shows through but this allows you to play with color variation with out loosing definition.

There's little definition to her right cheekbone and the area between they eyes. That might be what's bothering you about her face. It looks a little like the bridge of her nose runs straight up into her forehead rather than dipping at the brow. I like the hair, and her facial expression. Usually a messy vampire tends to be either looking fierce or overly seductive.

This is quite nice. I like the soft shading and your colour selections. White hair can be quite difficult to render and I like how you handled the hair, but I think it could use a bit more work. The large masses of colour are nice and make good backdrop on which to add further definition. I think a few loose strands here and there would make the hair even more realistic. I really love the flower in her hair and its shadow as well.

it's nice, personally i think you exaggerated with the make up, if it was simplier the contrast would be major and the attention of the observer would be much attracted by the blood (just an advice) ^^

Great details and colors! Her eyes and surrounding makeup really do stand out well. Quite a pretty and sinister vampire.
