Description
A remake of a sketch i did back in 2009 of the Greek goddess Athena. I changed a few things (hopefully for the better
) especially the composition as it is meant for bookmarks. I also tried a new technique for the background this time, mixing the colours directly on the paper but it didn't seem to work that well or as i had expected so any hints/suggestions regarding this technique would be appreciated. 
Watercolours, pencils and white acrylic.

That owl is staring at me seriously. The helm and armour look like those of roman. Athena should look more primitive if she was assumed in the ancient greek period. I'm gonna try this someday this month or later. Good theme.

Athena seems to have this look in her eyes that says "I am contemplating killing you at this moment so please continue to bore me to death . . . I love it.

How can you smoothen (?) the white acrylic? I'm having a hard time with that part.

With a quite wet brush and only a bit of acrylic.

This is the most beautiful and appropriate rendition of Athena I've ever seen in pictures. Everything else makes her look either too severe or slutty (which makes no sense at all). This, though, is perfect. Thank you - would you mind if I printed it out and put it up on my wall?

this is fantastic, just a nitpick though is that athena was blonde, many of the gods were, along with almost all of the greek heroes

Nice, you managed to make a hot, yet dignified and still totally canonically awesome Athena! Most attempts at this end in a cheesy, garish super model in fantasy armor, maybe a toga and a spear thrown in. And the non-cheesy versions are usually just some chick with a bland face wearing armor- not at all how I imagine one of the three most beautiful Goddesses in Olympus! But your rendition is exactly what I think of when I think Athena so kudos to you.
