Next Chemistry Project! 8D
We have to make a board or card game to review units (due Thursday) and my Dad had the brilliant idea to link it to WWI. YEEEEES~ He's such a smart, awesome guy. 8D
I love the history of WWI, particularly the epic uniforms <333, so I'm actually really excited. XD
So these are the covers for the question cards- WITH GAS MASKS! WWI was nicknamed the Chemist's War because of the use of Chemical Gases, the most notorious being Mustard Gas, throughout the war.
So Red is British Helmet, Green is French Helmet, Purple is supposed to be Russian but it's fail. ;~;, and the best one if the German Helmet~ <3333 Ironically, the first one I did. XD I'm really happy with how they came out. 8DD

...I'm going to ditch the rest of my homework and play Call of Duty: Finest Hour now- it's WW2, but it's an awesome game and WW2 is awesome history studying too. >D

Estas son Mascaras de Gas de La Primera Guerra Mundial para mi proyecto de Quimica- llamaron la PGM la Guerra de los Quimicos porque usaron tantos gases letales.
Rojo tiene el casco de los Britanicos, Verde el casco Frances, Morado el casco Russo (supestamente, pero salio feo), y el azul (y el mejor <3 ) es el casco Aleman.
Estoy muy feliz~ Salieron bien! 8D

War is hell.
That’s what they drilled into your head each and every day as they pushed your mind and body to the brink of collapse, isn’t it? Quite a contrast from what your professor fed you right before you graduated, stories of glories and martyrdom: Dulce et decorum est, pro patri mori (). Death to the invaders- the prayer on your mother’s lips, the dying wish of your father, the battle cry of your brother, the frightened sob of your little sister in the dark, the enraged roar of your homeland.
War is hell, where the very air you breathe can kill you.
Crouching in your filthy trench, rats scurrying across your legs with pieces of the newest recruit clutched between their teeth, bullets whizzing over your head and shells shaking the muddy earth you’re standing on to the very core. The night sky explodes in bright bursts of color and the air is filled with the dying screams of the wounded, silenced within moments by the louder booms. The smell of destruction and decay permeates everything, and you hold your breath and continue to wait for your superior officer to order a counterattack
That isn’t enough.
It is the smell of pain and agony, despair and anguish, calamity and misery. It burns at the skin and destroys the lungs, ripping your body apart from the inside. It is Phosgene and Mustard Gas. It is science with the mask of death.
Chemical Weapons.
Responsible for the death of over 100,000 of your countrymen.
Chemical Weapons.
Responsible for the disfigurement of 1.2 million, including your best friends.
You need protection.
Gas Mask. Flannel. Celluloid lenses. Connects to oxygen canister. Protection for the entire head, including neck area. Impregnated with urotropine and and sodium phenolate for added effectiveness.
One size fits all.
