I googled Anteros, and it says that her power is to command people... is that true?

My "Dictionary of Mythology" (it's a book I own) describes Anteros as "god of passion; avenger of slighted love". His Wikipedia entry states that Anteros's power is over requited love; presumably, this means that he tries to prevent one-sided love.
